Time for oil GB again.

Amazon cannot ship Castrol 0w-30 already...amazon also cannot ship 0w-40 anymore...

BUT with hard work, I found they ship 0w-40 in 5qt bottle.

Castrol 0w-40. BMW LL01. Similar properties as mobil 0w-40. Now on offer very good price.

Me and my dad use liao is not bad, but I just want to try this Castrol 0w-40.

Seriously though, the Castrol is so cheap that I see no reason to buy the Pennzoil.

Disclaimer: Air cooled engine may not run well with the Pennzoil 5w-30 or Castrol 0w-30.

The genuine bmw oil filter is also made by Mann. Same for the air filter. You will see the mann logo on the bmw branded part.

Do note that 816x filter will fit n20, n52, n54, n55...etc. However, it comes with the copper crush washer which is only for metal oil pan. The official package for n20 is 816z kit. Filter same, but 816z comes with plastic drain plug instead of crush washer. This is because...

The bmw n20 without x-drive is using plastic oil pan. For that, you will need to replace the drain plug every oil change. I replace mine, but workshop told me don't need. So if you want to use 816x, it is at your own risk.

Note: Genuine "816z kit" (I.E. the bmw genuine, bmw brand box, bmw label) is only $18+gst at eng soon. So, if under warranty then just go eng soon buy genuine lah.

Dear Slow Poke driver, apologise for my ignorance but may I find out whats the different between 0-40 and 5-40?
I believe most of us are using 5-40, is it suitable to change to this rating? what are the pro and cons?

Hi you can easily Google the above rating and there are tons of information on it.

In short, the number in front is for winter purpose and can be ignored in our climate.

In conclusion, you can use the oil with no problems.

Please take note. The capacity is US 5QT around 4.73L per bottle. Ensure one bottle is enough for your engine size. Refer to your owner manual if you are unsure. Alternatively, you can Google.
