Fuel Consumption Problem.

My Fuel consumption was 7km/l and i wun be able to hit 320KM for a full tank.

But just this week, my fuel consumption display 8.9KM/l, and i mange to drive near 420km. for a full tank.

i wonder is there some problem with my ride. Riding style is the same. No recently new mods done to the car.

please advised on the problem..

pump full tank
reset OBC fuel consumption
monitor OBC reading and compare with manual calculation (no of km run over no of liters pump)

I have done that. I reset the Fuel consumption reading & AVG spd reading.

What's your car? 335? 325? 320? 318?

I am a little confused -- you are getting mileage. Why is it a problem?

If you car is brand new, it would have better economy when the car is run in.

Btw, I get about 10km / L, and do about 530km before the indicator comes up, with another 100km to go.

Just serviced your car? Just removed tons of things from your trunk? Recently driving alone more often - used to drive the entire family around?

Just switched to V-power or Shell 98? I consistently get about 10% more mileage with these 2 fuel types.

The Most Recent thing done is Engine Oil Change (R2D) while the rest is the same.

but i just switch from Shell 98 to Esso 8000.

Seems to be the Fuel switch which caused it

U pump petrol urself? Some uncle stop the pump when auto stop, some whack another 3 litres till can see petrol outside.

Esso's fuel IMHO is better. I'm getting much better FC with Esso also. I track my FC religiously. I have full record ever since I bought my car. Recently I average 9-10km/l on my E90 320i on Esso 8000. Used to do 8-9km/l on Shell 98.

Anyone has any experience with Caltex Platinum ?

I am using Esso 8000 for my E90 318. It gives me 10.9 km/l and full tank almost 600km.

dollar for dollar, esso seems better
the last time i pumped caltex, my excel sheet with a chart for $ per km shot up

My last tank only gave me 5pm/L.
Something must be wrong. Let me monitor and hope the next tank is better.
