Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

Re: Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

my obc always show 6 - 7 km/L, anyone worse than me??? lol

Re: Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

My Dec 2004 E60 520i 6 Inline Engin with 245/40R19 & 275/35R19 Tyre:

7.1 Km/L - 75% City, 25% Highway ( Average of 7,000 Km )
8.5 Km/L - Singapore to KL and Return ( 4 Adults and Speed range 150 Km/Hrs - 200 Km/Hrs )
Both manual and OBC give about the same reading.

My opinion if you go for older version BMW 5 family fuel comsumption is not the advantage of the car. FYI, Cefiro 2.3 2006 V6 Engin with 225/50R17 tyre give me only 7Km/L. So, BMW still have better fuel comsumption compare to some Jap car le.

Think why you get BMW at the first place? Do you know this is Ultimated Driving Machine!

Enjoy your ride la, bro & sis.

Re: Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

Hi all,

Looks like it is proven our E60 drinks..I am running on 19 inches wheel and my fuel consumption is on ave 7km/litre. At first, I thought something wrong with my car cos I have others telling me they r running 10km/litre on their E60!!!

A check with friends running on Powerbox told me their throttle response is much better but fuel consumption is equally bad. As for tuning, I do believe that reflashing can reduce the fuel consumption and improve the throttel response. Anyone who reflash can share their views?

Re: Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

i m driving an '07 523xl E60, fc averaging 9km/l, 80% highway n aircon off most of the time as i drive at night n smoke a lot:OTpolis:
juz came back from KL n obc read 10km/l with speeds of 120km/h to 180km/h.
do notice that fc suffers badly when stationary with engine on.
usually get about 500plus km before pumping petrol. not too bad for a 2.5l heavy car i would say. had driven petrol gushers before, n i'd say this car is still acceptable n i m on 19" staggered too....
had a 3.0 z4 b4 n surprisingly, fc is better in that car....

Instead of reflash, why don't change back to 16"?:D:D

Re: Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

I am clocking average 7-8km/ltr, reaching about 500-520km every tank.. who cares? I love the ride, I love the refinement, I love my car

Totally agreed with vy bad when stationary with engine on ... Cos I used to tune bit one inside my car with engine and Aircon on .. Must say vy vy suffer badly on the fc

Re: Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

how about the new 520i and 528i?
FC claim to be 15km/l.....

any comments?

Re: Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

15km/l??? if they reduce it to three cylinder.

Re: Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

Highway maybe... but in Sillypore.... get 10km/l already happy

Re: Fuel consumption current model 523i and 525i

Actually I m curious about all these threads asking about FC. If FC bad and costs u more money than a jap car, then how? Sell away the BMW n get back jap car?
