Fuel - 55 liter @ 500km only

Re: Fuel - 55 liter @ 500km only

I switched from Ron98 to ron95. FC no diff. Saves $30 per tank.

Going to try ron92.

You will not get the figures in your first tank.
After 2-3 tanks and your ECU adjust to adapt to 95 then you will see your FC up

Re: Fuel - 55 liter @ 500km only

No money to dyno.

But engine sounds quieter. No garang feel anymore. That esso 8000 dunno got what additives in there but it sure sounds more rough. On esso 5000 it sounds like a Toyota.

That being said my car is stock .... So don't expect detonation when rev in mid to high end. Stock is tuned for ron91.

If you have JB4 in certain modes etc - it might ping unless you drive like auntie.

Bought some ice cream for my kids with the $30.

I tried both 8000 and 5000 for my E60...and OBC still show the same FC...no diff...

Each grade use 1 month still the same engine sound...

Re: Fuel - 55 liter @ 500km only

My ride is a 2007 e90 320 with 17 f10 rims. So far 3rd tank after collect keys. Best with ron95 is 490 on 53litres. Shell gives me better than mobil.
Still happy

My old ride subaru I get 350-370 on 42lit

You all are good boys.
When i change from 98 to 95 , i could feel the lower performance after 1-2 trips and my right foot starts to compensate for the loss in power by pressing more thus the higher FC

Same here. FC was about 9.5km/l on Ron95 last month. Changed back to Ron98 and FC was currently 10.2km/l based on last top-up. The better FC compensated for the higher price of Ron98. Decided to stay on with Ron98 as feel will be better for engine in the long term at the same costs.

Envy at all the FC here... all so good de ley... Must ask PML check whether my fuel needle got spoil or not, the first 3/4 tank, each quarter can clock 100km only... the last 1/4 tank can at most see 50km... so add all up one tank only can see 350km... sianz

Finally i realised i'm not alone.. :cloud9:

Cheers.

Re: Fuel - 55 liter @ 500km only

Petrol needle at 2 stops before 0....
Computer indicated 68km to go before hitting 0 mark....
Distance travelled 530km....
SPC Ron 98....
16inch stock rims....
Stock exos....
Stock filter....
Stock spark plugs....

Ixit suppose to be like this???

Re: Fuel - 55 liter @ 500km only

Better than me. I pump Vpower everytime and yet my engine sounds like a taxi!!!

Re: Fuel - 55 liter @ 500km only

Different car will give different FC values. There are many factors effecting FC.

1. I believe that using a less viscous engine oil gives me better mileage.

2. Clean air filter is important too.

3. Running on bigger rims means heavier load. Lighter rims means lesser load means better mileage. If you want to look good on big rims, you have to sacrifice fc.

4. Set your ac temp to 24 deg. Setting too low increases your compressor kick-in period and increases fc.

5. Lighten your boot load. Best if you can remove spare tyre and your golf bags!

6. Keep your tyres well inflated at 230psi. Under inflated tyres can cause road drag.

7. Move off from stop at a constant foot pressure. Dun floor to half to move off. Anticipate red light stops ahead and let your car cruise instead. Never place to Neutral and allow car to coast to a stop as it will stress your tranny to run dry for a while. Not good.

I hope it can help fellow bimmers to save some cost here....

Re: Fuel - 55 liter @ 500km only

Re: Fuel - 55 liter @ 500km only
