FS: E36 rear camber arms (LCA) $60

I have a set of 2 week old OEM camber arms.. I bought them for $60 each as part of my complete suspension overhaul.. basically in a fit of madness I replaced every single component of my suspension right down to the last 18mm bolt, nut and washer.. but then I decided to go for the SPC billet steel camber arms instead.. so these are for sale at $60 for both.. they are as good as brand new so you save 50%

The rear lower control arm on the E36 is a wear and tear component that needs to be refreshed, I recommend all E36 owners who haven't changed this to do so as soon as possible.. this arm is designed to absorb suspension harmonics and will deform over time, protecting the subframe from damage e.g. if you hit a curb or pothole the arm will bend instead of cracking the subframe.. chances are if you haven't replaced it.. it's already deformed leading to erratic alignment and other issues

The stock camber arm has a 2.5 degree adjustment range using the OEM eccentric camber bolt

As usual, first person to show up with $60 gets them :)

Hey Peter, how long do the oem ones last? I know you recommended me to go with stock but I'll be using my car for the next 5 years and want to know the benefits of aftermarket vs oem.

I think for normal street driving the stock ones should last a couple of years.. if you drive very hard then of course the lifespan is shorter and if you hit something.. well you have to replace it anyway.. the control arm bushing itself is quite understressed as the bulk of the load is borne by the bushings on the trailing arm..

I think it boils down to budget and how you use the car.. the steel ones I bought cost me nearly 400 which really sucks.. if you want the alloy aluminum ones it'll be nearly 500+ which is a lot to pay for a piece of metal and some bushings.. I would've used stock but I want to run -2.8 static rear camber and the stock ones just don't give me enough adjustment so I had no choice :(

You can actually get -2.5+ using the stock arms but you'll need to lower the car a lot.. the E36/E46 handles like shit when slammed on the stock geometry.. I see quite a few fellas trying to copy the DTM touring car look but it just doesn't work without the DTM modified control arms and geometry.. 1" to 2" lower is good enough without screwing up all the camber curves

wow....-2.8 is a really large negative camber. Thing is I don't know whats the optimal camber for normal street driving. About -1.5 on a 35mm (1.4 inches) lowered car?

You can't adjust the front camber on a stock E36 without camber plates, you can only adjust the rear camber.. stock specs for E36 non-M is -0.4° 35' and -1.4° 30' rear with 0° 18' of toe angle in front and 0° 24' in the rear.. basically that's about it since you can't adjust anything..

With coilovers and camber/castor plates, you can adjust everything :) For an aggressive street setup I'm running -2.9° 00' front and -2.2° 00' rear.. I zero the toe angle in front for better tyre wear and run 0° 30' in the rear for stability.. I've gone for alignment 3 times in the last 2 weeks and I'm finally happy with this setup
