First 528i need advice

Hi all bros,

Just signed on the dot for a 528i 2015 model.
Now its at 80K milleage, and warranty still left with 1 year with PML. As this is my first bm, is there anything i should look out for or take note?

Im a frequent SG-Penang driver, any known issues for this car model when driving over a long distance?

Watch out for the Charge & Boost pipe, they are all plastics. At this age and mileage, its about time they may cracked. Battery is the other part if its not being changed already.
 
Hi bros, thx for the advice. Is this charge and boost pipe included in the check list during servicing? The car has gone for servicing in April, or should I brimg down to PML to check again since the car still has warranty? Thx! :)
 
PML will not change the pipes for u if there are still not crack... waste time... suggest also change gear oil also since u will be on Long distance often... for 80k advise to change oil pan also.... for prolong usage..

Charge and Boost pipes are not part of the check lists. PML will not change for you. The problem with this plastics pipes is that they may break/crack without prior warning. I would say preventive maintenance is the way to go. Change them to the metal type (will last longer than your car COE expire) for peace of mind.

Recommend you replace gearbox transmission fluid and filter.
Replace the Zf sealing sleeve and rubber bridge seal.

About sgd 100+
For sealing sleeve.
From jerking. I change around every 40,000km. Fluid must be proper Zf lifeguard fluid. Not any other.

To keep expensive gearbox working and smooth.
 
Do a walnut blasting to remove the carbon deposits in intake valves.

This is needed around every 50,000km for direct injection engines.
 
Check for high oil consumption.
The main maintenance items are to replace
Usually leaks at cheap gaskets.

1) oil filter housing section gasket
2) valve cover gasket
3) engine oil sump gasket

Typical around 50000km

From Around 100,000 should be
Issues with valve seals and PCV valve issues for missing engine oil.

If you have them.

Seriously think and ask no use. Bring your car to workshop and ask the specialise there.... got a better understanding and things to take note with! Their advise will be much accurate.. go Bavworks.. look for William. He is willing to share and no hard sell boss.
