Hi folks
I have finally decided to take the plunge!! Found my dream wheels at last - BBS CH 19x8.5J ET35 all round. Thanks to a friendly forummer here they are now sitting nice and snug in my wheel arches and giving me a big smile everytime. Makes me regret not going 19s earlier, oh well….
Since this forum is about sharing, here’s some recent photos to share since I managed to find some time to take the pics. I know its no big deal as it cannot be compared to some of the other awesome setups you guys have here, with plenty of nice rims and even more gorgeous BBKs , but thought I’d post anyways…..
Before I get on with the pics, here’s how they looked in the beginning with 16” and stock suspension
Then came 1st suspension mod with Bilstein B12s and 18” CSL reps
Only half a year later, backside itchy and got some new goodies - Koni FSDs with Eibachs
Golds vs Yellows
Everyone’s favorite mechanic hard at work
Rims install
Front new look...sigh, still on stock brakes haha
Rears
Then off to get alignment done
How they look now
Rest of the pics…..please excuse the poor pic quality and camera skills
Overall, IMHO, I feel going from 18” to 19” did not impact much in terms of acceleration /pickup, these BBS CHs are not forged but they are not that heavy either at 11kg a pc (lighter than CSL reps when lifted) Comfortwise I would say they are very much the same, prob due to the FSDs - they are the best thing out there for comfort and daily street use – thanks CBS for the advise!
FC wise, as long as you can manage your right foot, I would say its also not much difference. Last 2 tanks or so it was some 20-30km less than usual (prob right foot was heavier to get used to it). Current tank FC was back to before, driving routine unchanged.
Tires currently are 235/35/19 Toyo Trampio Vimodes, looking to change out to Sportmaxx or if budget permits, some really light and swell PS2s would be nice…but the Toyos are really holding up well, last few days with intermittent wet weather, no shakiness or sliding in the wet yet….
Ok, dun wanna bore you guys anymore…..feel free to comment!
cheers!
