Finally joined the 19" club

Hi folks

I have finally decided to take the plunge!! Found my dream wheels at last - BBS CH 19x8.5J ET35 all round. Thanks to a friendly forummer here they are now sitting nice and snug in my wheel arches and giving me a big smile everytime. Makes me regret not going 19s earlier, oh well….:yummie:

Since this forum is about sharing, here’s some recent photos to share since I managed to find some time to take the pics. I know its no big deal as it cannot be compared to some of the other awesome setups you guys have here, with plenty of nice rims and even more gorgeous BBKs , but thought I’d post anyways…..

Before I get on with the pics, here’s how they looked in the beginning with 16” and stock suspension

Then came 1st suspension mod with Bilstein B12s and 18” CSL reps

Only half a year later, backside itchy and got some new goodies - Koni FSDs with Eibachs

Overall, IMHO, I feel going from 18” to 19” did not impact much in terms of acceleration /pickup, these BBS CHs are not forged but they are not that heavy either at 11kg a pc (lighter than CSL reps when lifted) Comfortwise I would say they are very much the same, prob due to the FSDs - they are the best thing out there for comfort and daily street use – thanks CBS for the advise!

FC wise, as long as you can manage your right foot, I would say its also not much difference. Last 2 tanks or so it was some 20-30km less than usual (prob right foot was heavier to get used to it). Current tank FC was back to before, driving routine unchanged.

Tires currently are 235/35/19 Toyo Trampio Vimodes, looking to change out to Sportmaxx or if budget permits, some really light and swell PS2s would be nice…but the Toyos are really holding up well, last few days with intermittent wet weather, no shakiness or sliding in the wet yet….

Ok, dun wanna bore you guys anymore…..feel free to comment!

cheers!

Now all you need are side skirts, BBK's and xenons...

CBS, I know I know.....you are a walking mod checklist haha!

yup, looking for AC skirts, racing dynamics also nice. BBKs? dont think I will need cos I don't track. At most go for some updraded rotors and pads, lines etc. Xenons, yep still looking.

Thanks hetraa. The Eibachs drop the car lower than previously. Now its a very tight 1 finger all round as the springs settled a bit more. Yes the front is low as hell.....:yummie:

Willman, haha :yummie:....when I saw your car I realised how much fun you had modding it! :)

But I guess its all part of the fun to mod it yourself, of enjoying car ownership, buying and selling parts, hunting it down haha.....I learnt it from my E30 days sourcing high and low for a stupid Mtech 2 kit, and that really kept me on a high!:yummie: Also its something to look forward to every now and then especially with such a forum like this, bad infuence haha :lol2:

I know what you have, so will let you know if I want.....

cheers and thanks dude!

Guess what Mr. Ninja, those CH rims DEFINITELY clears BBKs... like my AP Racing brakes on SALE... *hint hint*

Had the same setup on my ex-car! :)

Cheers with the new look!

Re: Finally joined the 19" club

bro ninja,

nice set up you have there! can sense the well thought out fun and sensible mods dialed into your pride and joy! makes me wanna go get my own dream mods immediately- sports steering wheel, front lip, lowered suspension etc, but somehow no guts to do it, or rather moolah no enough hahahaha!

cheers,

LOL Thanks Sam! Yes I know they clear most BBKs, and that was my only fear when I got the CHs...haha:yummie:

Re: Finally joined the 19" club

Thanks Fooman!

Hope you get your dream mods done too....I am not impulsive on mods, as I do take time to chew on it, but everytime I regret not doing it earlier haha....sometimes no choice la, searching for parts etc. So if you can might as well do it now if you are gonna get it done anyway.........more time to enjoy them :yummie:

Just don't do one shot, more economical (perception only) and there's always the next one to look forward to as well.

Re: Finally joined the 19" club

Great pics Vic and hope you are enjoying those rims. Fantastic look for your car.

Give the BBK some serious thought. After awhile, you will probably find the stock discs too small and the BBKs will be really a great look for it. I felt the same way :)

But I shouldn't encourage you to mod too much....

Re: Finally joined the 19" club
