F30 E90 Offset of rims is the same (or very very close)... so rim can use BUT tyre cannot, unless you don't mind speedo meter reading is wrong...

Just get the aspect ratio done right so that the overall diameter is based on the e90's spec while using the f30 rim.

If you have an e90 .....
Offset can fit.
Tire diameter too big. Try get a tire with 632mm in diameter. E.g 225/45/17.

hi noob question here about rims and offsets!
saw a nice F30 rim style 392 with 225/45R17 and wonder if it can fit my E90? Because the offset is 37 vs my stock 205/55R16 is I think either 30 or 31?
any idea if the 392 rim with E37 can fit E90?

saw a nice F30 rim style 392 with 225/45R17 and wonder if it can fit my E90? Because the offset is 37 vs my stock 205/55R16 is I think either 30 or 31?
any idea if the 392 rim with E37 can fit E90?

30+ offset is definitely ok for e90 as you won't see much difference
Tire size 225/45r17 is also mfg recommended size as well so that's good too
Question is if you want it looking flush, then you need something else for that

I see so with the 392 rims and 225/45 R17 set up the wheels won't be flushed?
I guess I would need spacers? If I do get them probably a conservative guy like me 10-12mm ones will be ok Heard there are safety issues.. What should I look out for in getting spacers? Things to avoid?

Most e90 running stock rims except M3 are not sitting flush.
So yes, you may need spacers but install the new rim to see first.
Get good quality spacers like bmc, eibach or other branded ones, 5/10/15mm is usually very safe.

Thanks! I think the flush look is clearly nice to have but yes, I'll see how the new rims are...
Read that spacers can lead to noticeable improvement in handling too but me having been on stock for 2 years anything else is an improvement
Will keep in mind to get quality spacers if I do get them!

Ok.
Which stock F30 rim and tyre is a direct fitment to E90. Dun need to care abt flush or wat. Just ensure that the size and the speed in the speedo is not affected. 17-19" have?
Cos F30 ppl trade in rim and tyre and old E90 to use the tyre. cheaper i guess?

There's a rims shop at AMK who said that they do customized spacers. Like they cut the aluminum and customized it to the width you want.
I read that we should get good make or even branded spacers. So are customized ones safe? But they are cheap. Four tyres plus new bolts only about $350 or slightly less.
Anyone using them and any feedback?

IMHO, don't take risk on back yard jobs on spacers. Spacers are supposed to be precisely engineered so rims don't vibrate when moving. Also why risk potential problems with something as critical as your wheels. Buy reputable ones if you must have spacers.

Agreed .
Actually E90 have better choices of rims compared to F30 . Stock offsets also look more aggressive
