F10 rocky ride

Hi Bro

My F10 Nov 2011 HL model with mileage close to 20k. I experienced pretty bad suspension issue driving along the NSHW. My passengers in both trips at the back complained that they feel like sitting in a rocking boat whenever I go through uneven patches along the HW. Took it to PML and the technician who test drive the car claimed that this is typical of F10 suspension. There is nothing they can do. That is why later model has Comfort plus suspension setting. Mine has only sport, Sport + and Normal setting. Is he talking crab? He said he too will feel sick whenever he sits the back of F10.

Any advise?

Re: F10 rocky ride

Go Sport+ setting and then lower your ride with after market springs. Will resolve the rocking boat.

Re: F10 rocky ride

Cheaper mah...

Re: F10 rocky ride

What's your rim and tyre size?

Bigger rims tend to be more bumpy.

Re: F10 rocky ride

I was doing between 100 to 120 kph. My rim n tyre is stock rim 19" n RFT 245/45/19.

Bro MW, I asked the same thing about after market springs, he straight away said void warranty...

Re: F10 rocky ride

Yes, my next attempt is to swap over to non RFT to see any impact. Else will consider bro ac323 suggestion if coil over or aft Mkt springs as suggested by Bro MW. Only problem PML always talk about warranty issue.

void what warranty? Only the suspension what...not the most important part...the engine. All else is "cheaper"...

if you worry about warranty, then the only way is to have sea sickness pills in your car on standby

I don't understand this.

You bought a BMW and take this crap from the agent? Feels like a shoddy reply from some Cherry QQ mechanic.

"Is like this one."

BMW FTW (plus F10 sart sart as per jonleeck), so please, do not fear the CSA/mechanic. Go use your Buddha Palm and exercise your rights to fix it within the warranty period.

Re: F10 rocky ride

Please name and shame the SE. He's not doing his job and taking customers for fools and deserves to be hung out to dry.

Don't bother with PML. It's a bad design by BMW on the F10. Read more forums and you will find out. The stock suspension sucks.

Re: F10 rocky ride

Bring SE and SA for NSH ( test suspension )

Hi just curious, are you saying the suspension is too hard or too soft since your topic mentioned 'rocky"? I would be surprised if its the former. Anyway I would think the right balance between comfort/handling is really quite personal.

Cheers

I agree it's pretty personal. Car sickness could be induced by a ride that is too wallowy. Next time try Sports mode to see if it improve the situation. Also your passengers should not do any reading on iPad/iPhone or play games on that. That will definitely induce motion sickness.
