Re: E93 Advice

Been driving the E93 325i convertible for 3 months now and all seems ok. i would recommend
a buy.

Reason: overall aesthetics and feel of the car is very good. engine is perfect.

any other current owners have anything to share?

Re: E93 Advice

Go for it. Its a good fun and fantastic car having both coupe and hard top. If u can go for the highline version. The bucket seats is fantastic (grips yr body well) and original GPS. Just have to change to 19" rims and upgrade the exhaust systems and it is almost perfect. Engine is smooth and responsive. Sufficient power for singapore roads.
Cheers

Re: E93 Advice

Like most of the e93 bros said "GO FOR IT", Lifestyle car. Just changed my wheel to 3-piece schmidt with rear 265/30/19 with 10.5J.

Cheers,

Re: E93 Advice

265 with 10.5J is too small.... u should be running 285s and above to get ur tire to wrap ur rear rim nicely.

appreciate your advice.

Bro,

depends what you want, you can look up on the resources. as for the exhaust we are still awaiting for more choices to come. the current stock looks good to me.

Cheers,

Re: E93 Advice

Some mechanics told me at high speeds n also over time, the E93 will rattle bcos afterall its top parts are movable n not a firm complete structural body.

E93 owners what say? Damn I was suppose to get an E93:(

Then just let it rattle..

Life's too short to let a couple of squeaks get you down :p

Re: E93 Advice

in the E90 posts, some members are complaining of leaks after going thru touchless car wash (high pressure?)!! that i think is more of a worry, rattles i can live with and it is the norm. any comments form E93 bros?

Re: E93 Advice

Rattles are a part of having a convertible, hardtop or soft-top. Initially, when the car is brand-new, there is little or no rattles, but after time, when rubber joints start to harden, etc, the rattles would come.

Take my mum's SL350 for example. Its a hardtop convertible, 2yrs old, 21,000km only, always garaged. Top comes down occasionally. (mum drives, it stays up, i drive, it stays down, weather permitting of course). New, its never rattles, now, it does. Went back to C&C for servicing and to look around the top and there is nothing you can do, short of replacing the entire roof.

My 2 baht worth.

Re: E93 Advice

There's been instances of E93s limping back to PML with the roof in mid-action... scary! BMW is still pretty new to this, IMO.

that is damn embrarassing

Re: E93 Advice

Firstly the E93 is a very very new car in the world. How can a mechanic whom i presume have never ever drove the E93 at all would give the kind of comments of rattling. They are very good for giving rumors when actually they do not know at all. It looks like it comes from BMW competitors with jealousy. Also the E93 is only about few months old in this world and how can anybody comments with no experience at all. Never heard of any such comments from anybody who bought and is driving this beautiful set of wheels.

Yes, I saw one in "mid-action" at Alexandra. White Color one......Wah Lau, you shd have seen the Driver's face :lol2:

Anyway, for me, if I want an E93, I would go for a black one as the lines flow better in this color and the sectional gap lines are not obvious but a lighter color on the other hand makes the lines really obvious.

If top down, all color also chio :yummie: as no roof lines are seen at all.

Anyway, I figure that if I have an E93 or any other Cab, I would wanna drive top down whenever I can. That's the whole point isn't it.

The fact with the possible rattles surfacing over time is TRUE of any convertible just like what Sam said......Scuttle Shakes are minimized on a CC but will never be totally eradicated.

As for the visible sectional lines when top is up, WHY CAN'T BMW make the E93 like the Volvo C70????? :(

Look at the C70, it's Beautiful whether top up or down...........Just not RWD.....HAIZ!

i saw one white E93 driven by a lady....i have to say white is the best!

Re: E93 Advice

My previous soft-top rattled as well. Same with Alvin666's. It is inherent part of cabrios, soft or hard-top, I'd reckoned. But I do agree that darker-coloured cabs are visually better in view of the lines on the hard-top......

Re: E93 Advice

oh yeah, and modding a cab's suspension will increase the chances of rattles, esp if u go coilovers. Now on coilovers, can start to hear my coins jiggling in the coin compartment liao...

Top down or up?

If top up, look at the 3/4 view and you will know what I mean.....:yikess:

Re: E93 Advice

top up. i am surprised too. i thought black will cover the lines better

but that white E93.....damn nice.
top up or top down.
