$50k OMV does not equate to the actual price of the car. It just so happens that PML declares the OMV in the region of $50k and hence PIs have to do the same. The MTA spreadsheet does not show the actual cost of the car as the actual purchase price more often than not is much higher than the declared OMV... Oops...

Hi Brandon. Thanks for your insightful explanation. And good luck to the PI to do this, I am sure evading custom duties and government taxation is a small crime. Can't remember if the dealers who under-declared vw golf OMV few years ago went to jail or not.

Ladies and Gentlemen: I'm thinking of getting a 325 or maybe a 335. How do you suggest that I go about asking Performance for a discount? Do I just say, "I'll offer you 230K for a 335 and not a penny more!" Or what? :)

Why just $8k for 335? I am 95% sure they are willing to sell at $230k(I "was" told).

AhBeng: thanks for the advice. So if you were buying a 335, what would you expect to offer? Not that I can bargain as well as you, of course.........

history is such that the price of a new model BMW will slowly but surely go lower, just like mobile phones. Just tell them yr budget was $220k actually "BUT" you could go up to $225k and see what they can counter lah. Errr....go during last 2 weeks of month hor ...kekeke...thats when SEs have to meet their quota.

By the way I am bad at bargaining. Just that when I go to PML, I show them all my body tattoes.

Thing is the PI cars are mostly sourced from UK and it's got cold weather there.

i think it is what PML calls "tropical spec" on their std equipment list. i remember someone once saying the cars we get here are different in climate-related specs as opposed to those in EU..

Anyone bought the new 325CI from PI yet? Spoke to the PI about the price delta between PML and PI, which is almost negligible. The PI sales guy ask me to name my price. What should be a decent price to offer them?
