E92 offered by Parallel Importer

I hope PML is reading this( i know you hated me). List of standard/optional items from VINCAR obtained 3 weeks ago. Price quoted for 335i is $210k and 325i is around $185k-ish(sorry cant remember). ps: me not related to any PI what so ever, me just beng.

true, but are you willing to take the risk with a new car on the market, especially with that new turbo engine?

i've had problems with my bmws. i wouldn't dare imagine how a parallel importer could ever settle those issues like pml did.

beng, 210 for the 335 is a good 28K off pml price...but the 325 basic is "only" 188K at pml while PI is selling at 185K...too little discount right?

i also wouldnt buy from PI when model/engine is still new. Actually I did ask around and check. KBS mootorsport for eg 'service' a lot of conti cars sold by vincar, including merc n cayman. I guess these are all simple servicing which most workshop can do easily and for J4C/BVO, its just a piece of cake. Risk is the electronics stuffs, not sure if the other shops besides PML has the tools necessary. Hvg said PML servicing are crap from the people I spoke to mostly.

Kurqa, i dont know which is basic or premium package for 325. I think some items on Vincar is not found on PML and liekwise vice versa. for eg, the idrive/navigation thing is not listed so we need to account for that. However, I saw during the soft launch the 325 may not have the new sunroof. What interest me is some of the prices of the optional items. Easy...just take the PML 325 spec list and compare agst Vincar list

you've got to find the right ones.. the guys who are willing to warranty or fix anything for you.. some of them also have contacts in PML, so in case of a big problem .. your 2 year international warranty will mean something...

The problem with the 325 being too little of a discount is that they have very little to play with i.e by the time they bring and import car with options included and usually the higher marques in UK are usually much cheaper and so bringing in the car and selling it much cheaper in spore cause for the fact these cars don't go cheap in spore.... do not make sense for them to bring a car in and make 3k, higher marques like Porsches command a better profit and bigger margin for them to play with .. so the diff can vary frm 80k to 100k.

The 335 are slightly better because of the fact that PML is selling them at a much higher price... so they have a bit to play with..

Yup... IF la... i mean u talk abt the 325, its only so much that they can do with,

The 335 alone im surprised that the diff is only 28K and with this alone they are still selling the car. They have this thing that if they're only goanna make that much, they rather not bring it in.. but i think they know that the 335 is going to sell pretty well esp with a price tag of 210k with full options. so im guessing volume than anything else.

Even for the Porches, the Cayman S not many units they bring in.. maybe 1.. the very most 2, cause they cant make much frm there..

then it's so pathetic to see Z4M's OMV of slightly under 70k vs its selling price of 295k.....hahahhahhhaa

They told me 325 OMV about 50k and 335 about 60. To me, still making tons of $$ by selling at 180 and 210

I think another thing to consider is, $238K is the listed retail pricing for the 335i. Considering the fact that there may be room for discount and that if there are ex-stock months down the road, perhaps the real pricing could be a tad lower whereas PI prices are a tad more rigid (due to lower volume or risk involved in indenting).

The thing now is, if the transacted pricing from the authorised distributor is for e.g. 225K (an arbitrary figure), it would be tough choice considering that the price diff is less than 10%.

I think the main thing that plagues PI car owners is the fact that warranty claims are troublesome and usually involve forking out the repair costs first to be claimed later - worse if the car has unusual options and there's a poor stock of spare parts - thus resulting in precious downtime.

In any case, competition is good for the consumer. We may be able to see PI 1-series, more manual transmission cars and lower prices.

Was quoted $182k for 325Ci by PML. So PI at $185 way over price. I ever bought a 320 E46 from PI before at $153k while PML was selling at $168. So even a lower spec bmw can get $15k discount, we should be looking at $170 or less for the 325Ci from PI to be attractive.

u'd wish on that.. the car PML quoted u.. was it the same specs as the one frm a PI??... cause if not than u need to re-think that again. It's all about options... alot of options on a car frm a PI will be standard, and on a PML car will be an OPTION.. so check on both specs again..

agree, should compare fuji apples to fuji apples, not gala apples.

Best is get the spec list from PML and compare item to item with PI list.

Good question - I believe the PI car has slightly more options but not all options are useful to everyone. For example, I won't need a sunroof. The option list that PI gave me include 'Starter Button' I am wondering is that an option? How else can I start the car?

To be honest, I got a lot more options when I bought my E46 320i from PI. Full electric memory seats, auto headlights and rain sensor, rear auto blind, etc. Much more than PML spec but when I tried to sell my car, I lose 10k more than folks who bought their car from PML. You need to factor that into the purchase price.

Anyone has the spec from PML? I only got quote from one of my fren's SE, have not got the time to go down and get the complete spec.

I think for a 50k OMV 325, a fair selling price for PI (and us) will be around 160k . They make about 20+k, we save about 20+k . if only ......
