E92 M3 at PML

Since nthg much to do after lunch, so I n my family dropped by PML at Alexandra to purposely check out the new M3.

I didnt know wot to expect so entered the showrm and the car was displayed right on the side of the hall. First impression, stunning...real stunning. The car shows off its muscles. The wide fenders, the beautiful bonnet, the side grill...Too bad, it's got no CF roof. The rear inner fender has been factory-rolled so saves your time basically.

Damn, I felt so moved when I looked at it closer and the fact that I recently sold my E46 M3 probably made me feel a little miserable. It's an M. It's special. It's got grunt and sportiness no one can fail to comprehend.

And the best thing is of course, the pricing. At 333k...it is still not exactly a steal but i must say given its new design and mouthwatering S65 V8 powerplant revving at 8400 rpm, it's definitely a step forward to a better and more competitive pricing.

Now where is the money?

Oh, I must go down and have a look! I wonder if anyone has put a deposit on the car yet?

Re: E92 M3 at PML

nah i didnt, the car is locked as expected and i didnt want any S.E to attend to me
15 mins, we took off.

Re: E92 M3 at PML

Pak, how come no CF roof le... I tot it was standard for all E92? only the E90 doesn't ma.

yah! hope is still there by weekend.

Re: E92 M3 at PML

It puzzles me too coz in all mags, I have never seen one car featured w/o the CF roof.
I really assumed it's standard on this car hence the argument put fwd by the M division on weightsavings.

Putting on this sunroof is crap, the CG is terribly and adversely affected.

Re: E92 M3 at PML

Nice...finally it's here. A decent high revving V8. Now bring on the eisenmann and let it rip!

Re: E92 M3 at PML

coincidence. I dropped by today with a few friends too.

Probably because we've been so saturated with GTR pics the car was not as striking to me as the first time I saw an E46 M3. But what Jack says, muscular and all, it was all true. It's muscular but not to the point of being brutish.

I sat inside and the seats are the same as in any other E92, meaning that it's too big for me but probably fit most others well. But it's a luxe spec thing, the interior was luxe, and lacked the specialness of competing cars in its class now, esp the RS4 and the upcoming S5.

The tacho was normal E92 spec, unlike previous gen M3s which IIRC had a big tach right in the centre. That was disappointing.

The engine bay as well filled, and the engine in its full glory was nice. Even had exposed fuel rails which gave me a hard on. The intake plenum was HUGE the biggest I've seen this side of a Ferrari. Strut braces were pre-fixed on the car already as before, only this time it's so integrated with the car I doubt any aftermarket could do this. Expect CF strut braces to come out based on the stock template though.

I guess the only thing carried forward from the E92 body panel wise were the doors. The rest were pumped up. But if it's that way, why in hell didn't they do more? The bonnet had 2 little vents which were far too small and 1 was a dummy one and the left side one formed 1 of the 3 intakes. The side vents were very nice but without any through.

The brakes were underwhelming given the sizes of some of the 335 BBKs we see today. The car was on 18s and they looked fine, but the rims looked heavy.

Unlike Jack though this was very underwhelming for me. I didn't feel anything special, save that the car looked WONDERFUL in white, but nothing which a 335 couldn't beat. It was not like an M should be, aloof from the others in the range, but it seemed to just be one step above the 335.

But then I guess every second I was there the fact that this car weighed almost 1.7 tons weighed heavily in my mind.

Re: E92 M3 at PML

How many banks do I need to rob?

Re: E92 M3 at PML

help me think of a reason to kick up trouble at PML so that they will swap the 335 for an M3:juggle: , something which is more serious than causing sleepless nights due to waiting....kekeke

So 335 now $250k vs M3 $333k:singsing:

Re: E92 M3 at PML

theres already a blue EF29 M3 running around the roads..Damn muscular.

Whoa..Jack.....c its the M u missing now ! Pls dun poison us anymore, i'm so tempted now to go down PML and have a peek but im so so afraid i will start to think twice ...lol

Re: E92 M3 at PML

I cut and paste from the other thread, I wrote about my visit to PML to see the M, and some of the details I got from my SE.

Anyway, standard specs at the $333,800 price are quite generous, it includes:

EDC
M drive manager
Comfort access
Navigation pro
adaptive xenons
lumbar support seats
high-end audio system
full PDC front and rear
rear roller sunblind

Bluetooth prep, extended leather and 19inchers will be extra

The product manager is Vincent Lee of driver training, will probably send him email with questions on the M-DCT.

PML have brought in 8 and 2 have been sold.....hmmm if the 6sp manuals are moving slow, might be able to negotiate for more discount. Apparently the 2 sold are interlagos blue and jerez lack.
