E90 Manual

Hey guys

Is anyone in this forum is driving a manual E90?
How about a manual E46?
Any comments about the shifter? Is it as good as the Honda's and Mazda's?

I believe a manual will be more involving then the auto box plus more power goes to the wheels.

Comments anyone?

Thanks

U can pm em re the feel in driving a manual bimmer

As for E90, I hv seen one 320
But i m pretty sure the driver aint a forumer here

Re: E90 Manual

I m sure u can
The one I saw didnt look like a PI coz I didnt see any PI serial number

If one wants to indent the manual e90 320, should get the Limited edition Touring Car Championship series but dunno if can or not tho. It's running on non-valvetronic engine pumping out 172bhp..

Re: E90 Manual

i heard a cry for help?

i've a 5spd stick shift, its alright... the CDV is a pain and it feels notchy and hard to get into gear at times but i'm not a seasoned manual driver and so the fault may lie with the lousy driver and not the gearbox. i have no other cars to compare it to other than the honda civic i drove at BBDC....

your e90 will probably be a 6spd made by another company and therefore may feel totally different; mine's supposed to be made by zertrag?? some GM division i think, whereas the 6spds are ZF? i'm not too sure, i stand to be corrected.

Do you know if BMW manufacture their own manual boxes?

Hello Louis

What is CDV? Can you do double shifts at once (e.g. from 5th to 3rd, 4th to 2nd, etc.)
Any regrets about taking the manual over the automatic?

I think I read that the 6 speed is made by getrag (spelling?). Can anyone confirm this? Wonder how slick will this be and whether it is a short throw. Problem with doing an indent is that you can't test drive the box......

Louis... I believe all manual and SMG trannies are made by Getrag. Its a German company :D
