No doubt our E90 is really a good car to drive especially steering feedback and really stable at high speed but the wear and tear rate and the maintenance cost is really expensive and time consuming. I will go for a Lexus or maybe korean made cars when my e90 retire in 2yrs time. Now even sian and worry to open my bonnet.
After driving BMW, it is very hard to go back to lexus. U will feel like an old man. Not exciting ride.

How about GTR? Many say it's a downgrade since it is only a Nissan.

Re: e90 lifespan

When I collected my wheels last year I weep! For the amount I spent on a 335 I could get a Porsche 911S4, a Hyundai i30, still with some cash to have many celebrations if I live in Australia!! In US the picture will be more sob sob!

Re: e90 lifespan

Take your E90 to Malaysia once a while, to Malacca or better KL, the car will feel great and it will last a long long time!

My collgs/ friends from overseas can't believe how much we Singaporeans spend on cars. Jaw always drop when you tell them the price of our rides. (Or houses)

For easier comparison, look at it this way - homes in SG can be considered city limit housing in major metros like NY or Tokyo. Their jaws won't drop so much then.

As for cars, demand and supply - small island city, 6.9mio bodies. If every body wants to drive, or feels Entitled to own a car, we die.

I just wish they'd stop f'king around with the COE system! Proven to f up the situation from the tweaking between 2004-2009, now they are experimenting again. WTH!!!

Re: e90 lifespan

Comparing to nearby country like Hong Kong, we are much better off over here in terms of housing bro :)

Re: e90 lifespan

Actually nowadays can buy a house in London or New York at cheaper rates than Singapore. But you're right about HK/ Tokyo. It all comes down to what we feel is "worth it". For me, no place like Singapore, so while might complain every now and then - will still end up living here.

As for the COE, completely agree it's a necessary evil. But the latest changes IMO are very populist. Net result still remains to be seen. But for the OP, it might be too early to start planning as things will surely change.

Re: e90 lifespan

Still remember last month , my e90 prompt me to top up 1 litre of engine.at the mscp, open up the bonnet and topping up, my neighbour driving a Honda stream walk up to me and ask me if i need any help.I told him, no issue , very common for continental car to top up engine oil.He was laughing and went to his Honda stream and wave goodbye to me.I was thinking, drive a BMW so mafan.I have been driving Jap and Korean make car be4 getting my e90. Cheap maintenance and wear and tear rate no so jialat like my bimmer.
