E90 LCI 318/320 ecu tuning

Re: E90 LCI 318/320 ecu tuning

the sprint booster thingy is just a joke only la .....

stock condition can hit 153bhp/212Nm, you are most lucky guy who gets a car that delivers its output exceed expectation

Thanks Bro pbear & wt_know.

Thought Sprint Booster only give better throttle feel and doesn't add any power.

Other than the tunning by BOSS, the whole car is still in stock condition.

Thanks Bro ac323 & wt_know,

Very happy with the condition of the car now , lowering the car is not so keen 'cos all the hump & carpark slope hitting the base is very frustrating (it happen to my previous ride).

More keen on upgrading the brake but a set of good brake cost dearly.

Most likely will change the air-filter to BMC & Nology spark plugs on the next service.

Oh yes! BMC and Nology sparks are compulsory! Will add about another 6-8 ponies. Damn sweet ride lah.

Are you going to change exhaust? If you like something quieter at idle can consider Eisenmann Sports, if you like something more vocal can get Supersprint.

Hi pbear,

remember next change use Liqui Moli ( 5w to 30w ) engine oil ya....

cheers

Re: E90 LCI 318/320 ecu tuning

6-8 horses ? more like but feel la ... BOSS advise that air filter (even gruppem full intake) + spark + exhaust cannot deliver "significant" increase in horsepower after tuning especially for 320 (upside potential is limited unlike 6 potter), unless supercharge la .... hehe

nonetheless, it's a simple good upgrades that does not cost an arm and a leg

Nic dyno'ed and found a 6-7 bhp gain from the BMC drop-in filter. Agak-agak squeeze out another bhp from the plugs la.. lol.

The exos change is mostly for the nice sound. :D

Sprint Booster and Velocity are the most unworthy thing $$ can buy. Spoke to someone who sold off his recently. He said he was conned into believing that it adds torque!:fineprin:

Haha.. I actually like Sprint Booster. Makes the car much more responsive even if it doesn't add any power. :)

Aiyah, this someone did not do his homework can only blame himself. Ha ha ha.

Re: E90 LCI 318/320 ecu tuning

car with nic now for tuning... cant wait to try out my 320i next week!

Re: E90 LCI 318/320 ecu tuning

great. please update us on your stock power and juiced power :D
seems like many bros got their car juiced up hur ... i hope it's as cheap as my lunch watermelon juice so that i can skip mon lunch and go juice up my ride

hi Bro pbear, btw do u know how long does Nology sparks plug suppose to last ?
I believe the stock sparks plug can stil last another 20,000km w/o problem.

Don't think I want to chg the exhaust, my ex-ride I changed to remus exhaust and didn't like the loss of low end torque in Singapore city driving. Rarely have chance to enjoy the benefit of high end torque gain for exhuast mod.

Think 20k should be no prob. :) I did ignition upgrade at R2D (basically Rodney solders capacitors onto your coils to increase power output through resonance.. can't give you more details coz my EE sucks.. haha) and that's supposed to decrease spark plug life, so I'm probably going to get them checked at 12,000.

Eisenmann Sports don't seem to have low-end lost. In fact my experience and that of several other bros here (will point you to the thread if I can find it) shows low-end gain.

Low-end loss is actually caused by exhaust being too free-flowing resulting in a loss of "scavenging". By being more free-flowing but not enough to lose scavenging, you actually make low end gains.

See the "Scavenging" section in this article:

Re: E90 LCI 318/320 ecu tuning

Just curious whether will the bhp decrease over time after a reflash? Or will it be a 'permanent' power once juice up? Novice here.

Re: E90 LCI 318/320 ecu tuning

good question.
IMHO, power might decrease due to mechanical parts wear & tear resulting lost of optimal performance. ECU parameters or settings remain unchanged.

Good question too.. I also dunno.. haha. I expect my (brand new) engine to get better and better bhp over time as parts loosen up, but as they wear out it should get worse.

Re: E90 LCI 318/320 ecu tuning

pbear, your ride is < 1 year old and it performs at it's best.
no worries. vroom vroom. :D

Hi snowmanyee,

wear and tear do play aparts or you may do a dyno once every 50,000km.............

cheers
