E60 Temp display -40.0 deg C. how to reset?Footwell blows warm air unless turned off?

Hi, anyone experienced this -40.0deg C on instrument panel on dashboard?
Does it affect the aircon? Seems to me mine blows hot air at driver and passenger footwell unless air distribution turned off. Is that normal?
btw just bought and collect car last week 523i .
Thanks

Experienced that. Was able to make it change to cold by switching off for a while. I think caused by heat exvhanger freezing up.

Sent for aircon service and looks ok now.

Cheers

I have the same problem with my E60.
Haven't rectified yet but temporary solution do not hit the auto button (btw are you always using auto aircon) just adjust the speed manually so far no hot air recurrence.:)
Also i have the same temperature issue I suspect it's sensor or software ...... maybe
