e60 Engine Warning - Loss of Power

talking on the phone with car engine on and stationary for about 20 mins. car sudden shivered for about a second or two. warning sign came out - an engine symbol. it states engine power loss!

this happens about the same time when serb scores against germany ........ :thinking:

the warning sign was there for the approx the next 10 mins without any changes. i pressed the gas, rpm up and everything as usual but the sign still there.

then i move on and drive around but the sign was still there. the warning goes off after i turned off and on the engine.

5 mth old, fuel 3/4 tank, mob PB, exhaust, knn. this is the 1st time. will there be any 2nd or 3rd? cant imagine if this happen on the hiway.

any clue gentlemen?

Wao bro.... this is wierd.

Better send in PML since under warranty. But before sending in, remove PB. Don't want PML blaming PB and void warranty.

My issue when stationary at traffic light, car vibrates awhile then ok. I am sending in my car soon as i am almost due for servicing.

Some guys here who have installed Velocity have this same problem of power loss as well. See these threads:

I'm on the old SB, and some friends I know have the same problem with their SB as well.

White, better go for a check soon!

But your's working well for you..... so i guess sometimes is luck versus unlucky.

Agree.... white go Boss remove PB and send the car in.

White before bringing it in to PML, u may wanna let BOSS's mechanics take a look first.
They may have experience in this issue.

It's not me la, White is the one having problems. I think Idrive will just show engine power loss, but wouldn't tell you what's the problem/source.

must be thinking too much of u Peter, abt passing u the link for the free World Cup watching online.

well...logicwise just like everytime we experience a power-trip at home, we usually look for some new addition that caused it.
White, did u experience this power loss thingy in the past? only recently?
if recently, try thinking of what mods u did recently that might indirectly cause this, maybe due to config or something.
if u suspect its PB, then just take it out for a day....drive for a day without it and see if the problem is still there.
just my 2 cents...i don't drive a 5er so don't come and suan me hor, just trying to help.
