I think you do need a E46 CSL bumper on it to provide a better look cos its does looks a bit small when the E46 hood and lights were installed.
I am from Hong Kong btw, here's some pics of my heavily modified E36 M3:
It was equipped with a custom made CSL bumper (I moulded from a E46 CSL bumper and using side brakcets from a E36 325i bumper, I have the mould now to make replacement for it),Brembo 8 pot front calipers,MPD LTW flywheel,18" Rays CE28N Forged rims,ACS Carbon rear diffuser,Philips 8000k HID,H&R Coilover,Whiteline Sway Bars,M3 GTR Vented Carbon hood + Carbon GT Rear Wing (2 decks), UUC Evo3 Shortshift, Supersprint Sport CAT.,Larini Clubsport Rear Muffler,GruppeM Kevlar Airbox, ACS Badges all round......+ more

BTW, that's not the only old car with a new face, I saw an E30 with an E36 hood, lights and even bumper, yellow colour at downtown east carpark... First thought was a distorted looking E36
