Hi, All

First, I must apologise if I post in the wrong folder as I can't really find a suitable one.

I going to change my stock brake disc & pad soon. Looking at the following combination

i) disc - Zimmermann Cross-drilled
ii) pad - Ferodo or Bendix

I look more for durability over performance in the long run. (Currently on stock disc and pad)

Those have use before or currently using the above disc or pad, pls post your comment
Thank you very much

Re: e36 Brake & Pads

Hi,

Have you got your zimmermann rotor and brake pad?

How is their performance? How many km they have got?

I am interested to get one set for the front and rear. Have visited BVO, and doing some research online, some reviews said that zimmermann rust at the centre hub of the rotor, which I am quite concerned. Is that true?

Can you share your experience?

Thanks.

Bro, just got zimmerman last week with some kind of zinc coatings on it. It will prevent those "dormant" parts from rusting. So you may want to check if the one you are buying has those coating.

Btw, this thread is 3 years old liao.

hi bro,

thanks for sharing. your zimmerman is x-drilled or slotted?

how's the zimmermann doing? you got HP brake pads or just OE / Textar brake pads?

any squeling sounds during braking? any vibrations? any accumulation of sand / dirts in the drill holes?

are you satisfied so far?

btw, i was writting to john, just curious how you got this thread? yes, its 3 years, so i thought john would have some experience on the Z-disc then.

Hi,

"thanks for sharing. your zimmerman is x-drilled or slotted?"
Neither - My is stock rotor.

"how's the zimmermann doing?"
Ok, stock rotor, so nothing special.

"you got HP brake pads or just OE / Textar brake pads?"
Neither - stock pads. So it is quiet.

Paiseh, can't help you much on the slotted rotors or brake pads. Just wanted to tell you the stock zimmermans rotor I bought came with zinc coating. Or whatever coating it is called. To prevent rusting on the non-contact parts.
