Durian trees everywhere!

Re: Durian trees everywhere!

As I indicated previously, drivers at the tail of the convoy were kept abreast of the situation ahead at all times. You will observe that towards the end of the video, everyone behaved themselves and kept to one lane well before the car from the opposite direction appeared. It was not a coincidence.

Through this part of the drive we also had good visibility - more than a hundred metres? - and so plenty of time to react, particularly at the slow speeds we were going at. Unlike, say, along South Buona Vista Road where cutting across lanes would be somewhat unsafe.

So... for the nth time... this is not an ill-disciplined convoy taking stupid risks and posing a danger to road users.

We should think about the safety, not just for ourselves but for the other public road users too. Better keep the swinging around driving style in private tracks. Besides, at the speed the cars are traveling at, BMWs shouldn't have any problem keeping to their lanes.
A good convoy would include the use of radio. Accordingly, all member of the convoy will have knowledge of oncoming vehicles. In addition, the road from Ayer Hitam to Kluang has very good line of sight (could be as far as 500m). Lastly, despite the low speed, wider tyre has higher chances of aquaplanning. It would be wiser to take a wider turn to avoid the risk of aquaplanning.

Durian Tree Everywhere.

Looks like a well organized convoy. Does everyone use radio?

Re: Durian trees everywhere!

I followed BMW Club Malaysia convoy once & their drive is even more gungho. Lead car will stop traffic at traffic junction to allow the entire convoy to go through.

Re: Durian trees everywhere!

Hope Singapore's M Club won't be doing that... stopping traffic for a leisure drive is rather unnecessary :errr:
