Differences between the 318i E46 engine and the 320i E90

Hi all,

The new 320i E90 engine has 110 kW/150 bhp at 6,200 rpm and maximum torque of 200 Nm/147 lb-ft at 3,600 rpm.

While the old 318i E46 engine has 105 kW/143 bhp at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 200 Nm/148 lb-ft at 3,750 rpm.

Aren't these supposed to be the same 1995cc valvetronic engine?
Are the gains in engine tuning or is there something else?

it's the same engine. the siemens ecu is a more powerful version now.

does it mean i can acquire the siemens ecu for upgrade my E46 program???
