Creaking sounds on E90 rear door driver's side

Hi guys,

as per the title anyone encounter this ticking and craking sound on the rear doors of their E90? it only happens when i go slowly over hump or bumpy surface. any advice is greatly appreciated thanks.

suggest you spray some silicon lube around the rubber seals of the doors and observe for the next few days. If all else fails and if the sound is obvious enough, you shld not have a problem bringing it back to PML for identification and having them fix it.

i suggest you do isolated trouble shooting. remove all ur stuff from rear speaker area and boot. make sure its not from lose objects.

Your tool kit and hazard sign in the boot leh? are they lose?

i climb into the back seat and do everything i can liao maybe i should try again later its damn irritating maybe also cos of my firmer ride and 18" rim that amplify the problem.

i know what u mean. its really a bitch trying to track noise. theres only so much car can take esp if your tyres are highly inflated. all the shocks will be transmitted into the cabin and in the process losening stuff.

Get some1 to drive your car and you monitor while sitting behind. Hope its just the friction between rubber and the door frame. If it is coming from within the doors, might be more problematic.

i think its really from within the rear cabin around the door area clicking plastic sound =.= really a bitch trying to hear where the noise is coming from, btw if i armour all the rubber seal is it the same as using silicon lube?

i reckon so, though armour all is not as lubricated as the silicon lube. Do give it a shot. I used to do that as well. hehe.

Hi Sk2,

From your description, I am quite sure that it is the door rubber loose. The sound is cause by the friction when you can move on uneven ground. Drive to PML and get it taped. they call it sunno what friction tape. I just got mine done...under warranty.

Trust me. I am quite sure of that.

I just got mine taped today. However, they only do it if car is under 2 years old...although mine is coming to 3years, I had records showing same complaint during the first year thus they gave me foc...
