ows spray can be bought from autobacs for >30 bucks. did not work for me.

use bmw rubber protectant instead. buy from pml, 13.90 incl gst. cheap and works for quite a lot of folks. a recommended solution if u read on the internet. is also known as gummi pfledge or something like dat. dats german for rubber care :juggle:

Send the car back to Performance Motor if your car is still under warranty. It's a known issue for them so they know what to do.

I just did mine last week and now it free of creaks in the cabin. Best is to make an appointment, go for a test drive with the service personnel and leave the car there. Takes about a day.

I also got them to check the whinning noise, which sounded like wind noise. It's confirmed that something to do with the final drive thingy. Not exactly sure. Will need to send it in again to fix cos they can't finish all the stuff within a day.

Re: Creaking SOunds in E90

Hi delrosa,

I think I might have a similar experience with my E90:

1. creaks seemingly emanating from under the bonnet, possibly from front axle or suspension, when travelling over humps, even at very low speeds (approx. 5 km/h)
2. rattlings originating from under the dashboard when cruising on smooth roads

Both symptoms do not occur on a discernibly regular basis and, hence, not consistently replicable.

I suspect that my experience with point 1 above may be similar to yours. Strange as it sounds, in my quest to localize the issue, I have found that opening and re-securing the bonnet typically elimates the noise. It's odd, I know, given that the creaks seem to be coming from somewhere to the front and way under the bonnet. However, you might consider trying this to see if it helps eliminate the irritation.

I have sent my car for investigation and will keep you posted of the outcome if you find that our experiences in this regard are similar.

Re: Creaking SOunds in E90

Hi JYLAM,

There seems to be a similar rattling/vibrating/stuttering sound from either the steering wheel or the front panel of my vehicle. The sound only happens when i start the car in the morning and turn the steering before moving off. The sound will only last for abt 2-3 seconds and it only happens when i moving off from the car park..The sound goes off after tht. I am driving the E90 318i 2009 model.

How did PML solve the problem ?

Re: Creaking SOunds in E90

For anyone who has experienced the same problem and thereafter got it rectified, can offer your kindly advise. Tks alot.

Re: Creaking SOunds in E90

Any bros experience creaking sound whenever you alight from your car (be it wet or dry days)? PML told me it is standard due to handbrake bushing and it cannot be eradicated. Bros, please give me your recommendation/advice.

Sometimes i wonder why Jap cars have less problems.

Re: Creaking SOunds in E90

Compared to my e81 my 'Japanese' IS250 is as rigid as a bank vault. Even though the E81 has frameless windows which means I don't get the doorseal rubbing noise I can still feel the twisting and installing a strut bar did not help. Luckily not many other noises. My IS has done 4.5 years and 100+k's with no issues I hope my e81 will be as good!

Re: Creaking SOunds in E90

those with creaking noise when going over uneven surfaces, apply talcum powder on the hard rubber around the door (not the soft rubber). don't go and apply oil, especially the felt part at the edges. i put all sorts of crap, including silicone grease on it and it made it creak like mad when the sillicone grease dried out after a while. i had to remove all the oil I applied using alcohol and now i apply a thin layer of talcum powder. it keeps the noise away until the next car wash guy wipes it off.

cheers

My 1mth 13days old E90 also have such noise. Waiting to do it up @ PML when im less busy.

Seems like replacing all panels are the best choice.. Humm...

Re: Creaking SOunds in E90

Known issue on Bimmers. Mine creaks like hell too! will try talcum powder and see whether that solves the problem.
