Creaking seatbelts

Hi,

My seatbelt creaks whenever I breathe or whenever I go over a hump. Does anyone experience something similar? How can I stop the creaking?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Creaking seatbelts

Hi Kopibaby,

The next time you get in your car, put on your seatbelt and try to move it around. Try to detect whether the sound comes from the seatbelt head/clasp rubbing against the side of your seat.

One possible solution:

Alternatively, you can use felt tape (or see if PML can provide) - since the test drive E92 cars have them on the seatbelt clasps.

Cools! Thanks for the URL.
But I couldnt see the pics of how it looks like when fitted over the clasp.
So, just put the hairband/wristband over the place where u put the seatbelt metal piece into issit?
Thanks for info.

Re: Creaking seatbelts

Sorry, TS, I've not encountered this. Is your car new?

Re: Creaking seatbelts

WD40 is yr friend. Spray some over the seatbelt clasp.
Dont be like me, i thot the squeak was caused by the ECU fan, which i changed for nothing.

Re: Creaking seatbelts

its a lubrication spray in a white/ blue can that you buy off the shelf from DIY stores, and even supermkt like Cold Storage/ Fairprice. think the convenience stores at petrol stations carry it too. works well on mechanical parts

Re: Creaking seatbelts

I encountered this before and my seatbeat buckle has been replaced 3 times under warranty. It was irritating indeed.
