correct tire sizes for staggered 19"s

hi gurus out there,

i'm driving a LCI E60 n i've jus ordered a set of newly launched VR GT30s 19" from LS tires; due 2 arrive in 6 wks time. i've aso paid deposit n tires' sizings were aso documented. fyi, i didnt know i must pay for VR centre caps too lor; $200!!!!!

however, till now (10hrs later), i m still pondering abt e tires sizings......

my wheels r:
front @ 19X8.5
rear @ 19X9.5

tires given r:
front 235/30/19
rear 275/30/19

*do u gurus find it wierdo? cos i tot if front s 235, then rear shd be 265. if front s 245, then rear shd be 275?

pls advise, cos i ve oni paid deposit to wait till my rims arrival, n if i need to change/amend e tires sizing, i'd do it strictly, however wanna top up or wat case!!!!! but i jus wanna be safe on e roads; cos i travel to penang n/or ipoh, plus cameroon once a mth. whether i use tis new E60 or my euro R, its another matter.........

for 8.5j and 9.5j u can run on 245 or 235 front and 265 and 275 rear no problem even with different combination.. on looks it willd depend on tire design also..but safety wise its still withing the safe limit...not overstretching or understretching the tires to the point its not safe... but lets see which combi is the closest to your stock rolling radius...

you are driving the 525lci so let me presume your stock rims are 245/40/18 for stock

which means u have 98mm of sidewall for the tires plus 18inch which equates to 457.2mm of rim diameter...

which means you have 555.2mm of rolling diameter of wheels and tires ( stock )

the 19inch + 235/30/19 = 482.6 + 70.5 = 553.1mm

the 19inch + 245/35/19 = 482.6 + 85.75 = 568.35mm

the 19inch + 265/30/19 = 482.6 + 79.5 = 562.1mm

the 19inch + 275/30/19 = 482.6 + 82.5 = 565.1mm

frm what u can see the 235 and 265 combi is closer to the stock rolling radius which means ur speedo and odometer is will at its most accurate just like stock..

but using 245 and 275 wont say not safe or make ur speedo ki siao... in fact it might be more comfy with thicker tires...

me not expert just using my common sense...maybe other experts here can give more comment... im more of a looks person..i will got for wider tires anyway :laughlik:

Very nice rims!!

Most of the E60 bros run 245/35/19 front & 275/30/19 rear.

With front 8.5J & rear 9.5J, the tires above will kinda protect the rims alittle....good also!!

Won't look like it's over stretched........

from e both of u, i conclude i ll take front 245, n rear 275; as wat terry n wilman said: sort of protect e rims. if not, later tat woman (at home tat one) kena curb, i might ve to ban her from driving alr......:dramamam: actually, i m very very surprised tat how come front s 245/35, n rear s 275/30. wat puzzles me s e 35/30......... anyway, wont ask for explaination. as long as i get according to wilman's specs, i know can liao.

Correct aspect ratio for 5 series on 19in of 8.5*9.5 widths shud be
either 235/40 265/35
OR
245/40 275/35

Most if not all got it wrong as they are just given by whatever tire shops hv available to sell.


The 35 / 30 profile thickness is for 1series, 3 series and Z4s

Congrats to you that these gurus can be trusted...

Im waiting for my rims from LS too.. not same as yours.
Previously consider VR GT30s rims too, but 20"inch...
Abang Wilson say one.

35/30 the height profile (Thickness of tyres)
Stock tyres abt 55 if iaint wrong. for comfy ride.
F35, R30 is thinner tyres that makes ur ride more chio. Less comfy when approching bumps/humps...
(the tyres on the chio chio pics u see all low profile de)

of course i saw bro terry's rims! it s e infamous DPE forged! i cant afford it, can only pay for off e shelves.................

nonetheless, i really appreciate e generiousity of terry n wilman, in sharing invaluable info abt my thread. tks again to them!

now tat i know i've got front 245/35 n rear 275/30, as e "correct" or "most accepted" sizings, then i m relieved alr............. later at noon, gotta go LS n swap w them my stock wheels (cos another E60 bro bought mine) w another set of non-RFT................ n tahan 4 6 more wks..............8)
