not "did" but going to... eyeballing a 318i(manual) listed on the sgcarmart sold by this dealer call Iguakarz... one of the very few manuals around. somebody was selling a 325i manual, made me drool, but the price can buy two of this 318i, haha well, tomolo as soon as i drop my bags home i'm just gonna hop over to grab this car... as long as there's no rust prob or injury scar...

has been doing some homework and it seems like i shouldn't have to worry too much about the engine(pls pls tell me if i'm wrong)... cos across the border we've spare engines for RM$4000+++? quite a few guys on the forum has been recommending...

Heard of some terrible stories about Ig, but don't let me affect you because at the end of the day it depends mostly on luck - new car also can have problems. But I suggest that you ask the dealer to let you send it to a workshop to check first, before making the final decision. Usually they will allow you to do so after placing a deposit.
For the authorised workshops, you can either get the names from this website (one starts with B and the other starts with J); alternatively, PM jawsg as he also has a reliable workshop to recommend.
But do check properly before buying it, otherwise

ig also on my banned list of dealers.....wait till they try their stupid sales tactics on u...hehe
1) keep asking u put deposit for car cos SOME OTHER BUYER very interested, wants it.
2) if u ask for them to rectify this prob n that prob, they will but they will tell u they won't be able to give u the 1 month warranty as previously quoted

remember not to laugh out too laugh if u kena it ah....
1 more thing, all those newspaper ads abt ridiculously cheap price for cars, eg 16k blah blah blah....u go down and then they will calculate for u and the price will end up 20k+....hia hia hia.....thats dealers way of car price calculation for u

be patient, took me abt 3-4 months time b4 i nabbed a good deal for myself

well, i guess dealers aren't the most honest people in the world. when i trade my opel in for a civic some years back, my own friend shortchanged me big time on that deal...

that's y nowadays i rather not "support" friends or relatives when it comes to purchases... at least when it comes to poor service or sub-standard products i can &^@%$&@ like a normal customer, hahaha.... and of cos can bargain like an auntie in fish market...

the whole gang go with our E36s, confirm scare the shit out of the ig salesmen...haha.
honestly speaking, u should take a look at more E36s before making the big decision. just dun get to hung on to 1 ride that u viewed.
try to view cars with a "can live without it" kinda mentality or else u will keep thinking of that 1 car that catches your attention regardless of the cut-throat price the dealer throws at ya....its hard when car shopping initially but u will get the hang of it....including the rara shows by the salesmen

i've a pretty narrow choice actually... spent almost a month looking at sgcarmart and singaporecarsonline and there's only a handful of manual E36 my "can live without it" backup plan actually is RX-8 or Euro-R... (one of the few new cars with manual drive + 4drs) i simply cannot drive auto lah, i get all stiff up... :laughlik:

sszone, why not u go with kiwipang, u r only walking distance away. Too bad I change job n no more at beach road, if not can all go together to slash the price.

eeee.........ask me to go see those salesmen ah....actually the few dealers along beach road on my banned list....never liked them.
i prefer straight talking salesmen....just go straight to things, not those pressure tactics and football money thingy.
1 more thing, i paid only 500 bucks more than what ig offered my dealer back then...:nehnehhh:
my dealer somemore rewrap the whole car's upholstery for me foc.
my advice to kiwi bro is to look for lone dealers, dealers who deal in a multitude of cars and beemers maybe just 1,2 of their total stock. u can score a better deal then
