Clattering sound at rear door

Hi all,

I'm currently driving the E90. The drive has been great until recently, i started to hear some clattering sound at the rear door on the driver side. It's only there when i drive on uneven roads or slightly bumpy roads. When I travel on flat roads like the expressways, it's ok.

I don't think it's anything major but it's just irritating. Does anyone has the same problem? Or does anyone knows what could be the problem?

Bro,

Slowly this irritating sound will be on the rest of the doors. Bring down to PML and they will do some "magic" and back to a quiet ride ... :juggle:

I just done mine a few weeks ago.

Thanks bro, I will bring the car to PML soon but since the rest of the doors will get it, then I may wait until they get 'infected' then I bring down so they all get 'treated' once and for all.

I have no such luck with my e60. I have a rattling sound at the door on the passenger side - PML Leng Kee simply replaced ALL the door seals but I do not think they even bothered to test the car after replacing the seals and when i got the car back, guess what, it's back to square one. Useless and clueless....

Hi,

I have similar problem. Brought down once and they simply oil the door rubber seals. I told them it could be something with the door hinge, but they refuse to do anything. After a few days, the rattling sound come back again. now other parts begin to rattle again. Driving nuts :furious:

May I know what they did to your ride to eliminate the problem ?

Much had been written about creaks and clacks from the interior of all BM models. I gave up trying to fix mine long ago. PML is not really bothered. They just changed some seals and do some friction taping of the doors and that's about it. Sounds will return sooner or later. I believe that it is something that we BMW owners have to live with.

Pingman, part of the sound you hear is likely not to be from the door but perhaps from the seat. There is a lot of rubbing between the leather and the hard cheap plastic seat base ( yes, in a 7 ! ) that creaks till kingdom come. There is nothing much that I can do for my E65 as well.
