I was checking out some overseas forums on feedback between Brembo GT & StopTech BBKs and its seems there is not much difference in terms of performance but money-for-value selection is Stoptech.

i've used both brand.......so far so good..........

Just *try* not to go for taiwanese brands... had some bad experiences with VTTR especially...

hey, just checking if you have compared between Brembo & StopTech BBKs? similar size & pricing? I am thinking of upgrading the brakes on my 535, so any feedback will be great.

Cheers

MW,

how you know both braking power same? You tested before?

As far as i know, Brembo are progressive brakes. I was on Brembo GT and Alcon BBK on my previous, i like the latter more.

I have had Brembo GT before lah, and now on Stoptech.

For BBKs to really work, u have to be going very fast and then u need to do tests to tell the difference between two different brands. Under our current SG road conditions, how can u tell the difference whether good or not? U can only tell if can 'eat', thats all. And I go for the adage that anything is better than stock.

Dun need to overkill. If you have the dough then go for Brembo GT cos branding and more song...if you have limited budget or do not need sibeh sart BBK, then there are other alternatives...even Taiwan ones also can.

If you dun track or drive aggressively (something not possible in SG), then a BBK is jewellery. Mine too.

Brembo GT no good? Why change to stoptech?

I have tested the brakes in high speed before and indeed is a lot of difference n the best part is BBK save my life..

I'm a sucker for looks lah... The more sart the better..

Re: Clarification on Brembo GT BBK and Breyton GTS

Brembo GT is good and I would want it....just like I want an Aventador over a Gallardo although both are awesome cars. Its a budget thing for me and also considering my pussy driving patterns. I go for looks only and looks are something you manipulate. You want good looks only and sart looking? easy...buy a cheapo Taiwan BBK and respray and stick Brembo on it... I have seen it b4..sibeh swee and I was almost conned into believing its really Brembo. I never say Xiao pang

Same with reputable BBK brands.. U have Brembo, Stoptech, Alcon, AP Racing, Rotora etc etc but unless you drive like a madman everyday, how can you possibly say one brand is better over another?

Re: Clarification on Brembo GT BBK and Breyton GTS

actually truth be told, I dun even find any difference between my BBK and stock brakes...given my pussy driving hahaha

So its all for looks only for me. Clothes maketh the man I always believe!

Yes sir. I got this. 6 pot with 355 cos my rims are small.... :(

Took yellow cos it's one of the "original" colours. They come in red, black, silver, yellow.

Stock brake also work fine in local context.

I take it as Brembo GT 405mm = Stage 3
Maybe Stoptech 380mm = Stage 2
Original caliper + cross drilled rotor + better pad = Stage 1

Oh ya, there is a Stage 4 in recent years = Ceramic Rotor

Dunno how how to classify those with RAMBO plastic cover on their brake caliper.

In essence it all boils to owner's demand and budget.

I think also depends on how hiao the owner is.

Ever seen a 150bhp with 6/4 Brembo GT? I don't know what is the fellow trying to stop...
