Final 18" RS98 wheel specifications

Front: 18x9 +47mm offset 1" wheel lip

Rear: 18x 10 +30mm offset 2" wheel lip

Front wheel weight: 17.75 lbs. est. + or - 1/4 lb. (8.05kg)

Rear wheel weight: 18.75 lbs est. + or - 1/4 lb. (8.5kg)

US$3,450 (usual for 19" is US$5K plus I think, and 18" is preferable for track and comfort)

For SG people, wheels made in Japan, to shipping to SG is from Japan. Perfect fit for Porsche 987, may be used for other Porsches except Turbo/GT series. I am using Fedex to ship them in. Delivery time should be Apr/May. Spares will be manufactured, and stored in USA, if you require, you will have to buy them from USA.

Need 20 for quorum, 16 already in. Read thread for more details.

this is custom order and custom manufacture. At this time they are making for Cayman. You can see the RAC monollite web R A C Monolites they got M3 wheels too! But group buy super discount price, is for the spec above.

Cayman RS98 project as of 1/5/08


Construction:

The Cayman RS98 will be constructed via “spread” forging identically to all RAC Monolite and Champion Motorsport wheel offerings. This process takes a single billet of 6061 aluminum and forges the entire one piece wheel under extreme heat and pressure (T6 and 8000 tons). The resulting product is a wheel that is unparalleled in strength and durability. The added strength is what allows the wheels to be built lighter than most competing products.

All wheels are JWL and VIA certified to be used on this particular car. This new fitment and existing wheel design will undergone extensive stress testing to insure that they exceed the above standards for the Porsche Cayman.


Fitments:

Fitments are carefully chosen to enhance not only the appearance of your Porsche Cayman, but it’s handling characteristics as well.

Spread forged 9X18 et 47; 1” lip (estimate (17.5 lbs.)
Spread forged 10X18 et 33; 2” lip (estimate (18.5 lbs.)

Recommended tire sizes – Front Stock up to a 245 section width
Rear Stock up to a 275 section width



Brake Fitment:

The wheels will accommodate the stock Porsche brake system and aftermarket BBKs with no spacer required. The larger and uncommon 6 pot Brembo systems utilizing rotors larger in diameter than 365mm will not fit ANY 18” wheel.

Powder coated finishes are our standard applied using our highly durable coating. The finish is applied in a dual stage process that first lays down the color and then a powder coated clear coat. The factory will only produce colors in certain minimum quantities. The possibilities exist that we may not be able to offer a particular color if enough wheels are not ordered with that particular finish. For this reason we require that participants specify a primary and secondary color choice with their order.



Wheel lip finish:

The wheel lips will be finely machine cut and polished. The process is so fine that the result is almost undistinguishable from a polished wheel lip. They are then clear coated via a clear powder coat final stage for protection against the elements.

A picture of one of our very first wheels with lip can be found at the following link for a reference of what the wheel lip finish will look like. In this picture the front wheel has a 1” lip and the rear wheel lip is 2” on an 18” wheel which serves as a good reference for the Cayman RS98.

Wheel lugs:

The wheels will not be supplied with lugs but are built to accommodate the lugs delivered with the car from the dealer.



Group Pricing:

18” wheel sets are $3350.00 plus shipping.



Payments:

Due to scheduling and pricing of this Group Buy offering, deposits and final payment can be made via direct wire transfer and official bank check (major financial institution) only. We are unable to process credit cards, PayPal, personal checks etc… for this project.


Shipping:

Shipping is approx $125.00 per set from our facility in Pompano Beach, Florida
to the furthest continental U.S. location. Shipping will be actual cost to your door. No more, no less.



Deposits:

Deposits of $1675.00 are required at the time you place your order.

Deposits are non-refundable after the final group order is placed with the factory short of any unforeseeable and extended delay during manufacturing and delivery. The balance will be due just before the wheels are shipped to you.




Availability:

Replacements for those that might unforeseeably damage their wheels will be available through Champion Motorsports. Note that replacements will be offered at Champion’s normal retail pricing.
