Car Bluetooth w display: Nokia or SE?

I am thinking of changing my car BT (motorola) to one with Caller ID Display. Two options are Nokia 616 or SonyEriccson. Nokia is more expensive but it is a stand-alone phone by itself (can slot in SIM card). SE is cheaper, but is not a stand-alone phone.

Anybody has any experience with these two models?

Where to get best price? Don't need installation. DIY can.

Get the best of both worlds. Nuvi 310. The bluetooth capability is a hidden gem.

The touchscreen also serves as a phone, u can call up place of interest, voice dial, recall the last 10 or 20 calls made, sync your phone bk..... Only weak link is cannot read sms. Voice quality is good.

what's wrong with the Moto BT?

The new SE one has a screen know?? What do u mean it is not a stand alone? I tot the fact that it can connect up to 5 phones is pretty nifty.

The Motorola BT is ok, just want to have a screen for caller-ID, and possible SMS.

Nokia (model 616, I think), allows one to insert in a SIM card and use it as a car phone. Of course it can still pair with a handphone in your pocket. But without the handphone, it is a car phone. The SE can only pair with a handphone, no car-phone. That's why the Nokia is about $600+ and the SE $300+

I have tried the parrot CK 3100 ..... this is the most user friendly bluetooth device which good for most phones.

it has a display screen with phonebook built in for voice dial.

cost $350 incl installation.

Now they have the new 3200-LS which is color screen. very nice.

Pricing at pricegrabber.com for CK3200 is about US$180, excluding shipping. Another model, CK3400 has GPS antenna built-in (only antenna, no map system). I read before, that Pin Liang might have Parrot products in Singapore.

Is this connected to the car stereo system ? or it has its own speakerphone ? I as looking for one which is connected to the car.....any idea?

There is Nuvi 300, 310, 350 and 360.

Nuvi 300 and 310 are similar except 310 has bluetooth which is what u need. 350 and 360 are similar except the 360 has bluetooth.

The diff betw 300/310 vs 350/360 as far as I know is the internal memory (to me not impt coz I dun use the Nuvi to store music or picture files). In addition, Nuvi 360 comes with Europe maps. But price diff is quite a bit. A Nuvi 310 is two-third the price of a Nuvi 360.

One place u can get from is Perfect Watch at Sim Lim. Go check out the Nuvi thread in this forum. There are quite a few Garmin agents in Singapore. For full list, go to malsingmaps.com.
