Hi. newbie here. i am interested in getting a second hand 2004 or 2005 645Ci. Is there any thing i need to know about the car? Does the car have lots of inherent problems and bugs?
How about the engine and gearbox, any problems reported by existing owners?

I try to search internet, found simply too much information that may/may not be true. But after reading about PML and the BMW problem thread, I getting scare liao.

Can someone highlight and help before I commit to the payment.

Hey man, my uncle's 645iA Coupe no problem so far... Some times, don't keep your expectations so high. Its a car, a machine.... But eagerly waiting for the new facelift to come along early next year...

the screen will say DTC faulty but is actually not.. just send in for software upgrade or something and it will be fine.. provided ur car is still under warranty..

Hi There

Welcome to the forum!

As with any BMW, there will always be some form of problems each of us face throughout the time we own the car. The problems vary in terms of extent and nature. Just get them solved and enjoy the car and a relatively new car like an 04 or 05 should be quite alright especially with a 6er where most owners do not "trash" the car.

Try to get one with some warranty time left and you can sort out any issues as soon as you get the car and discover them.

As for PML, you just have to persist sometimes and make sure they solve the issues till you are satisfied. Having a more understanding CSA helps too! :)

I do confess that I hate it whenever an issue arises but the drive of a BMW compared to other marques within the same category is just so alluring that some of us including myself cannot tahan wanting another BMW even though you know it's never gonna be as reliable as most Jap rides out there........

Just my opinion.....

Cheers!
