Hi all,

I have received a brochure from PML and in it they had a BMW Performance intake system.
Is this avaliable for the 320 or only the 6 potters?

Thank you!

Hi Yasanaki,

You might want to check out the BMC CDA if you're looking for something different from a drop-in. I'm saving up for this myself.

Was in a friend's VW installed with CDA and felt an improved responsiveness. Nice low growl too.

Hi all,

Just curious over these performance intake, does it really help in the performance? Somehow getting a better breather without the mod of engine, ecu, intake manifolds and etc, it doesn't work. IMO, every single mod compensates each other isn't? In my previous ride, i experience the lost of low end toque after a open port, didn't quite like it in urban driving when we need torqy ride. Correct me if i am wrong, wish to learn more.

Regards
Henry

My opinion after having played with open pod intakes:
- Effect seems better in jap cars compared to bimmer. Bimmer intakes are usually quite optimized.
- If you want to try such after market intakes, try to change exhaust too. Bottom-line is you want to achieve better flow.
- After market intakes definitely works, question is whether the slight gain is worth the money.

for 318/320, drop in air filter like k&n, hurricane, bmc f1 is the BEST bang for the buck

Think open-pod is not good for 4-potters coz too much low-end loss. Also unless you have some way of insulating the open-pod.. more likely it will suck in hot air compared to the stock intakes that suck in air from in front of the radiator.

Ram air systems like Gruppe M on the other hand seems to make a big difference especially at higher speeds or higher RPMs.

And the sound... :D

thnx bros!

Bro if you don't mind paying a bit more, go for Gruppe M. I'm having very good experience with it combined with BOSS ECU tuning, although the tuning was actually done before I got my intakes.

The sound is also damn nice.. especially inside a tunnel. :)

Using Gruppe M also it's very good after it runs in, it produces it louder growl
