Hi,
As I'll be moving to Denmark at the end of this month I need to sell my 635 Gr A racer. Below are the essential specs:
· Chassis # RA2-38
· Engine # 00368
· prepared by Eggenberger (well-known Swiss race outfit which won the 1981 ETCC with a 635)
· raced by Seikel Motorsport in 1985 and 1986 in various European races, including the 24 hour race at the Nurburgring in 1985 and 1986
· original Motul / Garage du Bac (French Alpina importer) paint scheme and livery
· 3.5 liter M30 (12 valve) engine with approx. 280 bhp, 5 speed dog-leg CR gearbox, 3.63 LSD with 75% lock, Group A suspension and brakes, centre-lock wheels, air jacks, open side exhaust (rated at 130 dB)
· car is 100% original, with the exception of FIA-mandated safety equipment
o new FIA-spec roll-cage, fuel cell, seat and harness installed in May-07
o original alloy roll-cage and 120-liter alloy fuel tank come with car
· car comes with original German Wagenpass (= technical passport) issued in March 1985
· spare parts: 1 set of 17” 3-piece BBS centre-lock wheels mounted with lightly-used Dunlop slicks (on the car itself are original 16” 3-piece BBS centre-lock wheels mounted with new Avon intermediates), 3 sets of new Yokohama slick tyres, 1 set of lightly-used Goodyear rain tyres and 1 set of used Avon intermediate/slick tyres, 3.45 LSD with 75% lock
· tools: original Seikel Motorsport centre-lock socket and Facom 1000Nm torque wrench
The car is located in Singapore (all duties and taxes paid), is in good condition and is ideally suited for classic car races (as organised by the Hong Kong classic car club) or to participate in track day events. LTA-certified as an “off-road racing car” and cannot be registered for road use in Singapore !!
Asking price: S$105,000 ono
A bit of background on the 635 Gr A. FIA homologated the 635 for Group A racing in March 1983. Even though the 635 is relatively heavy (1,200 kgs) and not particularly powerful (280-290 bhp), its excellent handling and outstanding reliability made it the car to beat in European long-distance races (e.g., 24 hours of Spa) as well as the ETCC.
I brought the car from Belgium to Singapore in July 2007 and participated in several classic car races, attempted to qualify twice for the MME (fastest time was 2:33.x) and used in quite a few track days, all at the Sepang circuit. The car has been very reliable throughout and can be used as is.
I will post several pictures of the car in its current condition. If you are interested in the car give me a call to arrange for a viewing. A subsequent inspection by or at a specialist of your choice can be arranged.
