Yeah i think audi has proven itself well for this segment. Wonder why the ///M sedan never sold as well as the RS4.
That said, the RS4 was a B7 platform, they havent had anything for the B8? i stand corrected but i thought the competition was E46 against B7 era and E90/92 against B8 era.
Merc do have the CLK 63 which might actually have been forgotten. Its not apple to apple in terms of engine components and horses but figures are as close as can be and CLK 63 - C63 are only 2 yrs apart.
I would never have thought E60 545 anything close to the power/stamina & handling of an M5. It cant even match a stg 1 335i. if 333bhp would challenge the M5, what makes the E60 550?

I read to kill the M5 coz of the 545.... but price wise...ard $130k difference... performance also worlds apart. There were 5 in SG iirc...
For M3 sedan... so far i only saw 2... saw a stock white one on nicholl highway a month back... that one is so sweet!!!

Then we better keep our 335i liao.
Hiadee, how to mod our 335 like F30 M3 huh.....450bhp leh. Lup bigger turbo?

One acid test the E90 M3 will outperform a 335 anytime is track.... other than that, i think most 335 here can runaway from the M using the aggressive map... probably out-handle the M also... $$$ is king...

The RS4 and C63 AMG gave wide body and very very aggressive body works and look + beautifully enhanced interior but if you look at the E90 M3, very very similar to the normal non-M 3 series. They isn;t enough product differentiation in the E90 M3 IMO.

Actually the stealth/Q-car thing is what attracts me to the E90 M3. RS4 is nice, but the bits and pieces on the C63 is a little OTT for me. Prefer the old AMGs with more discreet body styling....
But that's just me. I'm the type who would debadge the M3 (and let people wonder if it's just a 318i with kit) or 'demod' an EVO to look like a Lancer EX....

i dont know how to put this, but driving a car with character is totally diff feeling from any old car...
id say the335 is special, but a different special from an M... to begin with the fat steering wheel makes alot of diff all the way to the suspension damping.. all adds up to an M character
