BMW logo on steering wheel

Hi to all who have bought E60 525i recently. I do not know whether you guys have the same problem as I face. Recently, I have a friend who just bought a 525i ( comes with soft-close and M aero kit). Out of the blue did he realise that the logo on the steering wheel (sports steering wheel) was a bit dented when he used his finger to feel it. I thought mine was fine, until I got the same problem with him. Thinking that maybe its just the sticker that is playing tricks,he went to consult a advisor form Performane at Alexandra. Much to his surprise, the advisor told him that the horn got to be replaced together with the logo for fear that the airbag will malfunction. The worst part is that he gotto fork out $800+ to have that thing replaced! As I have mentioned earlier, he just got his car this June, I got mine in March, so, any advice from my friends as to what should be done to resolve the problem? ( P.S. I urge those 525ers to see if your logo is also dented.) Thanks a lot bros!

Just buy another sticker and stick over it. Problem solved!

The replacement is true, I have had mine replaced twice (under warranty) because of the sticker.

Just buy another sticker and stick over it. Problem solved!

No bro, its not just as simple as replacing the sticker ( unless you D.I.Y), but if you go through Performance, they tell you the airbag will malfunction. Btw, do you know where I can get the sticker? Performance doesn't have.

U cannot replace the sticker. U have to change the whole airbag, which ur friend is doing or has done. One option is just to get a replacement sticker and stick over it.

Try SSZone, he may have the stickers. If not, u can get them from some of the sponsors we have here or from Ebay.

Gen Concept does the stickers, did my there. 2 showrooms in Ubi, similar stretch with Fong Kim, 2nd last shop & Commonwealth used carmart.

Yes, twice. But it wasn't cause of the dented sticker. It was cause the sticker on the inside faded. But I can confirm that they have to replace the WHOLE airbag cause of the sticker.
