Blown Bulb

hi guys, today while driving out of carpark, OBC issued warning of a "yellow low beam signal with exclamation mark". stopped my car to check headlights and found one blown...literally that is and there were broken glass pieces inside the light housing. question - anybody knows how much it will cost to get it changed at PML? at the other workshops?

also, will there be any technical problem if i delay the change out till much later? i know the warning sound may be irritating but i'm more concerned with electrical since the glass bulb is totally broken (not very conversant with electrical stuff so pardon my ignorance)

tks

Re: Blown Bulb

I assume yours not angle eye/xenon,

Just go get it changed in any car workshop. Depending on which/type of bulb you buy, I think for normal Philips bulb, should not cost more that $80 +/-

Not so much on technical problem...but more of a safety issue with only one headlight.:)

Re: Blown Bulb

Hmmm how come the bulb shattered in the 1st place? I think you should not only change the bulb, send it for a check as well....

Re: Blown Bulb

tks guys. yup, i'l be sending it in, not so soon tho. wait for servicing one time do all. just to check, now that the bulb is broken and revealing the filament, is this considered an open circuit?

Re: Blown Bulb

Hey,

Where did you change them eventually? and how much did i cost you?

Cheers

Re: Blown Bulb

My E90 experience this low beam warning light too. and after replacing the bulbs problem still persists and cannot reset. Any guys here same the same problem? low beam light function well, auto light came on when dark..everything was normal but tthe fault indication keep appearing on the OBC. Btw the OBC aka instrument cluster is controlled by the dme?

I suspect the instrument cluster mught be cranky or the footwell module. but both itmes are pretty costly to change so still not decided what to do although its not serious but the indication is very annoying.
