Re: BCBR vs API RS
API is made in taiwan, so do not be fooled by the branding (Australia Performance Innovations or something)...
I've many friends that are on it, both the type RS and type RA, but none on BMW.. (Some on VW Sciroccos, mainly on jap cars like Hondas and Subaru)
They are really value for money for the type of specs they provide, esp for the type RA. With external canister, independent bump and rebound setting for just 2k ++...
You cannot compare the API coils with top brands as these are budget coils (with features...)
Civic Type R users say that API is more comfortable then their stock coils... (Cos CTR is a track setup, and the stock handling > API)
STi and EVOs like the feel of the firmness, but it's just firm, firm, firm... Nothing else... And heats up too fast (even with external canister) so it can only last like 3 - 4 laps in sepang...
I will not recommend API for our cars as BMW is meant for progressive body roll into the corner, not throw in a set of firm coils and expect the handling to improve... BMW's handling isn't meant for that, nor do I think firm coils will help improve anything...
