Why would someone driving BMW pump Ron 95?

I drive Japanese Lifestyle car pump V power racing.

i wouldnt say its wrong to pump ron 95 as it is recommended by bmw that i pump ron 95 for my x1. i dun and pump ron 97 in my and ron 98 in sg to prevent too much changes in performance.

i am just not sure on the reluctance to comply with the law through the questioning of penalties and prosecution frequencies. you expect foreigners to obey the law in your country then please obey the laws of the country you are visiting.

Pump price of V power racing in Malaysia is RM3/liter. That's cheaper than SG diesel.

Lastly, all my current & previous car pump Ron 98 on this island. Difference in pump price btw Ron 95 & Ron 98 is not that much.

for those who frequent the 2nd link esso or shell station before crossing back singapore. just pay 10-8rm tip to the assistant, they will let u pump 95...no joke...( if u spk BM to them...maybe free). Petronas lagi best...juz pump 95...no assistant will bother u , all sleeping inside.

Witnessed at the Shell petrol station b4 customs....the driver of a SG car (high end kind) was filling his car with Ron95 when a pump attendant noticed it and stopped and removed the pump, explaining courteously to him that he can't fill up with Ron95. The driver reacted agressively, shouted and cursed loudly at the attendant and tried to grabbed the nozzle from him. I think it was to cover up his embarrassment at being caught becos alot of us S'poreans were there as well.

To add on to SapphireSpite's post:
-Stay in hotels that have security guards (no budget or 3star hotels liao), pay a little more for front lobby parking & kopi $ & be friendly to the carpark guards/attendant.
-Plan your route, petrol/rest stops; don't stop at those small/quiet R&R.....go to those big well lit ones only.
Send ur car for a pretrip check.....change battery if less than optimal becos a flat battery incident can be avoided. Keep a litre engine oil in car boot in case need to top up.
-Runflat tyres.

Believe me, It's better to trust the safety of our own car if possible than that of a rental.
