Anybody got any experience in installing sound system in the E34?

I'm driving a 95 530i V8 E34, and I'm thinking of cutting few holes in my rear parcel shelf so that sound from my sub from the trunk can enter into the car. Question is, will cutting the holes affect chaise of the car? Thanks!

cutting holes in your car will definitely affect the chassis (i believe this is wat u meant?). this is pure physics.

However, unless you're intending to do major stunts with your car you're not gonna feel the diff of cutting a couple of holes to let your bass through happy icing!

I may just put a 10' bass tube on the rear parcel shelf to save all the trouble...

i'd cut 2 holes @ the top rear shelf on my previous e34, just dont make a big giant hole. that shouldnt affect very much on the chasis as rear shelf is not part of the main chasis. fyi, i had a rear 12" sub box @ that time. however i prefered my previous-previous set up with 2X10" shelf mounted subs.

hey, dun wori, just cut. it's not gonna make any diff. (you're not HotRodCarStuntMan, are you?!!!) cut la... it's ok.it's safer than a 10" sub on ur rear shelf... its a potential projectile if u ever brake anything more than very gentle...!

Ok cut cu cut la, actually some kind bro here :singsing: advised me to do this, take out the original factory fitted rear speakers, make the holes slightly bigger and cover the holes with the original speakers cover. GOOD IDEA ya?

hmmm.. oso can ba, as long as u dun mind foregoing your rear speakers... i personally do not have rear speakers as well. I sealed my boot, n using 'free air', which considering my car (e46) bootspace, its almost like a boxed sub... wahahaha...
