Any lobang to fix/replace alternator

Guys, as stated. Today mrng battery indicator light up, Then by evening was driving home happily looking forward to tmr holiday when all my warning lights lit up for no reason. I thought to myself, xiao liao, so decided to drive to sin ming autopoint and save on towing service. As i was one traffic light away, aircon down, then as i turned into autopoint, throttle lost all power. With all the strength my car could muster, i turned up the slope, but engine died. tried to restart but failed. End up was guessing altenator prob.


To all seniors here, any lobang for alternators, recon/new. Many thanks in advance and hv a gd holiday!

dunno also, problem is the car lost throttle power and all indicators light flashing. worried that its mroe than battery. lagi best is today as i went out to buy breakfast for family, forgot that its public holiday, drive down only to see no shops open. really eventful =(

I had the alternator died on me earlier this year. The battery warning light came up sporadically. Being kiam, I ignored it for awhile - as it tended to go away. Then one fine day, the battery warning light came on again and just stayed on. I some more used the car for quite abit before deciding to drive to the workshop. Then.... halfway died - multiple warning lights came on, just like you described. It was quite scary actually - machiam like super multiple faults coming up simultaneously....

But thankfully, after changing the alternator, everything went back to normal.

Just make sure you get the workshop to also reset / calibrate your steering wheel sensor.... I drove off after replacing alternator, then the steering column fault light came up. Had to go back to workshop to calibrate and reset.

Yup. Sent in this mrng. Alternator not that cheap man. I hope doesnt become ultimate disaster machine man

I bought mine for $450+GST.... Should be able to last for the remaining life of the car bah.... =)

My old ride I have 3 amps for tweeters, speakers, woofer. Alternator up the lorry after 2 weeks.

Change a couple of times on this issue. Luckily old ride has the pivot earth, mega razin etc so got battery monitor. But still get a recon set of alternator can save some money n warranty. If get new, more expensive ...

Hmmm. Mine recently put in an active-subwoofer and tweeters. Alternator shld b able to support right?

Sourcing for recon was the issue. Sometimes, when alternator up lorry, need to get immediately - else car becomes an art piece for a few days... hahah

ya lor, plus if i had taken cab to work for the few days sourcing. hahah surely more expensive than buying new.. the only 1 day i had no car and took cab- total fare 120bux. now cab v expensive =(
