Aircon Temperature Settings poll

F30s,

What Temperature do you set your aircon usually in this weather? Somehow conti car's aircon is weaker than the Japs...gotta make the temp lower and the fan higher....:|

I'm on 21C, 3rd speed for Fan set on Auto mode.

Is this the norm here?

It depends on how your car is tinted makes a big different. My car is standard tint (LTA approved specs), on a very hot day 22C, 3rd fan. Normal, 24C 2nd fan is enough.

In the morning, 1st fan 24C on Auto

Afternoon hot sun, 3rd fan 20C on Auto

Evening, 1st fan 23C on Auto

Dark tint, morning, 24c, 1 fan, hot afternoon, 23c, 3 fan. I don't go auto mode. In between, 23.5c, 1-3 fan.

I read that it is better to put in Auto mode if not compressor or something will kaput very fast..

According to my SE, select M Mode, so that outside air don't get in.
And never set temp above 20, as advised by tech staff so that aircon will not hve "mouldly" & musty smell

Never set temp above 20? So you always set 16 to 19 degrees? ... wow

Dark Tint, temp setting 21 deg permanently- morning 1 to 2 fan, afternoon 2 or 3 fan. Not on auto mode.

Usually 19.5 to 18 depending on the weather

It depends. I guessed it is about working the air con compressor hard.

If auto mode but achievable temp such as 23-24, I think the compressor will not be forced to work hard.
