AIr con screwed up....pls help!

Hi guys,
This is my very first post here and sad to say it has to be due to such a "hot" problem.
Air con went ssssshhhhhhh......on friday nite n next thing i know its no more cold air......tk god it was nite time.
went 2 a shop in ubi to check it out n found out its run out of gas.....the mechanic suggested flushing the air con then top up gas....cost me 150 bucks to get it done n i was driving the whole weekend a happy n "cool" guy again!!!
but didnt last long.....2day the ssssshhhhhhhh sound came haunting me again n of course hot air again....haiz was literally bathing in the car when i was travelling fr tuas down to town......open windows???haiz.....rain the whole day.
went down 2 a air con specialist n according to them the cooling coil is screwed....so was reccomended to change....quoted 800bucks for it....together with changing the blower n block valve......though ther was nothing wrong with the later 2.

1.can someone advise me where 2 get a better price or is this a good price.
2.if change cooling coil is it a must to change the blower n valve?
3.any idea where else can i get this done besides ubi?

really need help on this urgently .......can anyone of the bros here pls help!!!!

Yes, i'll think your cooling coil is leaking resulting the "run out of gas". Parts for replacement are :-

1) Cooling coil - aluminium
2) Air con dryer
3) Air con valve
4) O ring and top up gas

Total est cost est $900 bucks inclusive of labour and parts.

Ask for at least 6 months warranty period from your workshop. If you needs more information you may contact me at this nos. 98337483.

Had similar experience before. Its costly as its quite a big job as they've to remove the console to replace parts. What you've been quoted is there about. There're ppl who goes for re-con ones which is obviously cheaper but theres a chance to be taken. If you're driving your car for a little longer & to have a pc of mind, would suggest to replace a new one. U can look at places like J4C, BVO, Tropical Success etc & compare prices. Gd luck.

Yup, had the same problem with my last ride - E36. In the end, had to fork out 800+ bucks to change the whole damn cooling coil unit. The job took about 1.5 days to complete. After that, aircon good as new. Felt like winter time again!

didnt ask for the warranty though might just give them a call.

yup bro....they replaced the coil , valve n the dryer....according to them its screwed aso.
anyway now i m enjoying the cold cold feeling....shoik again!!!hahahaaa......of course when tik of 800 bucks....a bit pain lah.
hahahaaa......if anyone wans the add can let me know.
