Advice for modifications of 520i E39

Hi,
I have been following this forum for a long time. My 520i now is going to be out of warranty and I am looking to modifiy it, which is mainly stock.

I would appreciate it if someone could advise me on what to modify first, what brand, where I could do it and roughly how much. I am looking for something to beef up the engine performance, better torque, better handling and maybe brakes too.

Pls don't flame me as I have read all the info in forum but I find it hard to organise all the stuff and prioritise. Hence this post.

Thanks.

Hi there, depending on how far u wanna go with ur mods on performance.. wide range.
Performance
You could get the SK2 kit for 10.5K (the last i rem being quoted).
There also Piggyback ECU systems to help fine tune ur car.
Alot of Air Intakes , Open pods to closed.

Handling
Coilovers . PSS9, KW2, TIENS etc.
Anti-roll Bars (Sway Bars) . wide range too... UUC, H&R, Hamann just to name a few.

Brakes

BBK (Big Brake Kit). AP Racing, Brembo, Stoptech etc.

or

you could just upgrade ur disc rotors, change better brake pads and braided hoses.

wah dude.. it's endless ... you could come down to the meetup and find out more or just PM any one of the E39 dudes or basically anyone u think that cld help u out.. i help u recc someone... Rex7_Vtec. He could help u source... that'll be a good start, don't rush tho.. think everything over properly ... time's on ur side.

Shaaz.
