318i with new k&n filter

Hello all,
recently i changed my stock filter with K&N air filter. Upon changing, i realise that there is increasing in growling while accelerating which should be normal. However after awhile, my engine seems to be rattling louder then normal when i stop at traffic lights.

Can people who have done a k&n filter change tell me if this is something normal or has something gone bad?? I think since the haze started to come my car also wanna become sick

Its just a k&n stock replacement..
How about the rattling? Issit because high air flow thats why engine running erm with more rattle?

Just did an inspection 1 at PML which is suppose to be a inspection 2( the pml guy cockup). Besides the spark plug that needs to be changed, is there anything else which i should go change? Any belt in 318 needs replacment?

inspection 2 change ATF/coolant/brake fluid?

rattling- engine mounts maybe? or perhaps its just increased airflow due to KNN.

Hmm, i see your avatar and it seems like urs is PFL, so u should be using the panal filter right? I am using the pod-like shaped stock replacement. Maybe thats the difference?

I feel the abit loud noise when accelerating is ok, but then when stationary at traffic lights abit annoying. Its the rattling of the engine... Gonna ask the workshop to check on my next service.

Mock, for e30 M40 engine don't waste money lah, OEM filter is stil the best.

why dun you try changing back to your stock filter. I have the same filter in my car but it doesn't give the rattling you are mentioning.

think if we change to oil based filters (K&N), we might need to clean the O2 sensor as the oil will eventually get coated on it???

Mock, for e30 M40 engine don't waste money lah, OEM filter is stil the best.

but... the $$$ already wasted liao....hahaahaa...
