3 series convertible hardtop variants - how to identify

I am confused by the multiple variants seen on the road. Can some bros familiar with the 3 series convertible help give a breakdown? Having trouble searching in sgcarmart.

Also what is the smallest engine capacity available for the vert. Hardtop version if I am looking at one between 3 to 6 years of age.

Re: 3 series convertible hardtop variants - how to identify

Exhaust is a good way to tell.
320 - single oval shape
325 - twin exhaust on left side
335 - single exhaust on left and right sides
M3 - twin exhaust on left and right side

Don't get the 320. The hard top adds quite a bit of weight to the car and the 320 is under powered as its a non turbo charged 4 banger, 0-100 in like 11s? Go for the 325 minimum as its a 2.5l inline 6. 0 to 100 in roughly 8s.
If you want lots of power and 0-100km in 6s, go for the twin turbo (N54 engine) 335. Since you mentioned 3 to 6 years, the twin scroll turbo N55 wasn't out yet.

For 335, anything but 335. Otherwise, will regret whether chiongster or not.

well, looking around for the wifey and kids... definately more crusing than bruising.... so more likely a 325 than 335 (overkill for its purpose.)

What is the alphabet behind 325 to identify the hardtop vert? 325Ci ??

That car is around 1.8t w/o human. That's heavier than F10. How r you gonna overtake in a tight situation?

Think about it.

I was going to say that when 4 series comes out the E93 might look a bit dated but come to think of it the E93 still looks damn good, seems to be aging better than the E90.

There's a device in all bmw models called a "horn". In most instances it's located on the steering wheel. Check your manual if you haven't located yours....:D

A customer of mine, a purchasing manager.... she drives one of this - White car with red interior, SHE's a 'youngish' GRANDMOTHER and has a childseat in the back. She picks up her grandchild after work everyday.... hehe

Well, I have to admit the latest 3 series looks damn good (sexy) especially the front half of the car. Anyway, I am keeping my options open.

ok i stand corrected! was looking at E93s and my ex had one too before i settled on my Z4 so here are things to note for the model years u looking at from PML;
The 335i comes standard with i-drive and 325i doesn't unless specially indented.
You can't move the roof unless you are at a complete stop unless you do some aftermkt moding. Opening takes about 20 seconds.

If you can wait, the 4 series convertible with current line up of engines (20i, 28i & 35i) will probably be released next year, at least that's what the SE told me the last time i checked. Smaller engines but more power compared to the E93.

for the 28i ... yes. The 35i still the same .....
