read this on a US Z4 forum:
I just received a letter from BMW about a recall for faulty DME control module software. It was also sent to 2005 model year 3 series and 5 series owners - anyone with an N52, M54, or M56 engine. Apparently these engines do not meet emmission requirements and require reprogramming. I hope this doesn't effect my gas mileage and performance - both have been excellent to date.
anyone knows anything about this? i just came back from servicing and my mileage has improved from 10.3L/100km to 9.7L/100km over the last 600km travelled since.
PML better not have electronically neutered my engine... i don't give a sh!t about mileage, but if my power levels drop even 1hp because of this, i'm going to burn a tree or 2 in protest.
