Yes I am running 19 x 8.5 ET31 front and 19 x 9.5 ET 27 rear.

Hi Ben,
Your front wheels offset ET31, did you encounter any rubbing? As for the rear wheels, did you roll the fenders to eliminate the rubbing? Appreciate your feedback. thanks.

Re: 18" rims to 19" rims for 335 sedan

+31 on 8.5 can't possibly rub at all...

wots r the weights like?

I ve enquiried these Schmeiden rims before. They are a tad lower in weight than Volks ME, I think the front for a 8.5J Volks ME is about 9.2 or 9.3 kg when I weighed it at Leong Seng. The Schmeiden is I think flat 9 kg or maybe 8.9kg for the same, when I checked the Japanese website awhile ago. Problem is, they cost twice as much as Volks ME.

Too light also no good. Really. I am still a fan of light rims but shd not be light to the extreme.

Light tires are equally important if not probably more as they are at the outer most of the spinning forces....PS2 , CSC2/3 the lightest in the mkt for UHPT cat

T6, why too light no good?

I think there is no such thing as too light when it comes to wheels. Lighter is better as far as I can imagine.

The ONLY objection towards `too light' wheels is this:

in a recent dyno session run by European Car magazine, they found that horsepower produced at wheels for the dyno was lower for light carbon wheels compared to normal aluminium wheels for a Porsche 997 turbo.

reason: the heavy wheels had very fast response to throttle off, and the turbo could not keep spooled up during periods of throttle off.

However, it was surmised that during real world loads with wind resistance, this difference would be moot.

On my mind, I know ME is best fit and value for money. In my heart, RS GT is planted, may be due to younger days using BBS all the time.

I guess it is a personal preference thing. On my current ride, I was on BBS CH (10.8kg) and then switched to Neuspeed (7.8kg). I miss the composed feeling of the CH which absorbs uneven road surfaces better. Feels more planted. On the Neuspeed, my steering became lighter. But the trade-off is better feedback, better acceleration, better braking and better FC.

So maybe to me, 9kg is ideal. To each his own I guess. :)

Re: 18" rims to 19" rims for 335 sedan

i would think that lighter rims would absorb imperfections better, unless your neuspeed were BIGGER than the BBS and had less sidewall compliance.

Same rim size. The CH is heavier and withstand shocks better. No change in tyres. Used back the same ones.
