Re: What an expensive day! Starter motor replacement.
I had my alternator broke down too. Managed to get to Eng Soon to buy the part (about $480) and towed car to Boss Motorsports (site sponsor) to change. It was almost evening, and they were the only ones who were willing to help. They told...
Re: What an expensive day! Starter motor replacement.
Aiyoh! Why you all like that? I totally agree - this thread should not turn into a site sponsor or workshop bashing! So, please, everyone, chill!
Like I've maintained - I've never said that I was unfairly charged or overcharged what! What...
Re: What an expensive day! Starter motor replacement.
Like I mentioned in my opening post, I understand that workshops need to mark up on parts to make money. Every business is entitled to do that. My gripe is on the AMOUNT of mark up - in this case, almost DOUBLE the price I could get from a...
Re: What an expensive day! Starter motor replacement.
No lah - I wasn't made to sign a warranty contract, didn't ask for a refund, and wasn't given change in coins lah. I won't go so far as to say that this workshop is a crook - they are not.
Re: What an expensive day! Starter motor replacement.
Yes, I admit that it was my bad for not doing research. But when the car suddenly broke down, I was fighting time - got to make sure it was settled by the day and not have to wait till next day. So my mistake was to randomly select one of...
Re: What an expensive day! Starter motor replacement.

Re: What an expensive day! Starter motor replacement.
I don't think it's too nice to name the workshop in this forum. But it is one of the site sponsors here.
For those who are really really curious or would like to add to your workshop blacklist or greylist, PM me.
Not my lucky day. Car couldn't start this morning and I had to tow to a local workshop to replace the starter motor. Think I kenna carrot liao. Workshop charged me $390 for the motor, and $180 for labour. Eng Soon sells the part for $200. I understand that workshop needs to mark up on parts to...
Re: Interior leather can be sold? Anyone wants?
I don't know about you, but the thought of where my head and arms will rest used to be where countless asses rub against just feels so wrong.
Re: Ignition coil - replacement - E90
Personally, I'd probably replace only the faulty coil if it's a premature failure. Eg, coil failure around 1-2year mark. If 1 coil fails rather maturely (if there is even such a thing), I'd go ahead and replace the set as preventive replacement.
