Any bros on Koni FSD? any feedback?

my secondhand 523i is on B4, personally finds it harsh (previously owned softy MPVs).

Other than changing back to stock, am thinking of Koni FSD.

Koni FSD is good. However, if you find B4 is too stiff, Koni FSD is likely stiffer. I find B4 too soft and I feels giddy after driving it for a short while. I switched to Koni FSD after a few weeks.

B4 is a OEM replacement to the original shocks. I.e. exact same rebound rate and dampening. FSD will be stiffer and not consistent, sometimes its hard n some time not so much you have no idea what its doing 90% of the time. I've had it before and didn't like it.

If you're comparing your B4 to your old shocks and saying your old shocks were softer you're prob right as older shocks are worn down hence a slightly softer feel. Are you running the stocks springs or aftermarket ones as that is a big part of the feeling.

When the roads are smooth, it's quite enjoyable. But bumpy roads (esp those smaller roads here patched up there patched up), quite uncomfortable, and SG roads quite plenty... My last ride was MPV,17", so suspension quite comfy. I have no idea how stock suspension feels, maybe shld find another one to find out. If B4 is similar to stock, then also no point change back to stock bah.

Koni FSD seems to be touted to be able to absorb bumps? Which is why i'm considering.

Owner of a E46 320D I have a complete set with over 10 years, and they are in great state, and if they get ruin i simply go to a Koni shop.

Koni FSD is better than OEM stock basic, consider them dynamic, they will get stiff if the road is clean without bumps, if the road is bumpy they will become soft.

In terms of durability vs OEM cant even compare koni will last and last.

If you have the stock shocks, its a great choice.
On my F11 LCI i have variable damper control it adapts to all its another level.

I actually did change to KONI Special Active, it is surprisingly not too harsh actually. Abit of a cheater i would say: car lower, better cornering and handling, smooth road not bouncy, over potholes recover fast, some bumps are harsher but i also dunno how the FSD works to counter different size of bumps. All in all, most of the time i think it's much better than stock or B4.

Koni Special active is the new version of the FSD its the same thing rebranded thats all.

No idea, check with you're preferred workshop. Never liked the FSD/Special Active as I can never tell what they are doing.
Straight up bilstein b4 for the stock magic carpet ride and orignal springs or b6 for a slightly more sporty ride with the stock springs or as most guy will go the b8+eibach lowering springs for handling.

I've heard that comment as well, regarding the FSD/Special Active.
It is unpredictable under various road conditions

I've my ride lowered with ACS, so will prob be going for B8s :)
